Emancipation Movie Review

Emancipation is a historical action drama film released on Apple Plus. So should you spend time on Will Smith's film, which has a running time of two hours and fourteen minutes?

Before the review, I'll define its story a little for you: the story is set in the 18th century, and Peter, who is a black African American, is a slave of white Americans.

But when Peter learns that US President Lincoln has given the order to free the slaves, he tries to escape from the captivity of his slavery. For more on how Peter has to face the dangers, you will have to watch this film.

First of all, this movie is inspired by true events, which means everything you will see in this movie has actually happened, and this movie is not at all a fast-paced action adventure entertainment drama; this movie is a sad or horrifying experience, and it is a well-made film.

Emancipation Movie Review

Will Smith should be praised a lot for the way he has portrayed Peter's character in such a believable way, whether he has to run away or suffer persecution. In all of those scenes, Will Smith's acting was phenomenal, making him without a doubt the best actor.

He has done very good work in many films.

Other actors' performances were also good, but the main focus of the film is Peter or Fassel, played by Ben Foster.

Other actors' performances were also good, but the main focus of the film is Peter or Fassel, played by Ben Foster.

I was able to connect emotionally with Peter and his journey from beginning to end, and I am confident that you will be able to do the same. The story depicts the oppression of black Americans by white Americans.

I am pretty sure that you will hate the villain's character completely, and you will feel care, tension, or sadness for Peter, and you would like to see him survive. In this whole movie, you will also get to see some intense or thrilling moments, and there is also a battle sequence in the ending that is well pictured or choreographed.

When it is shown on the screen, you will undoubtedly feel sorry for Peter or other black people who had courage at that time.

The actors' performances are very good, especially Will Smith, who creatively carries the film from start to finish and offers a very strong or emotional performance.

And the music or overall direction is also very good, especially every location, as well as the fact that the entire film is black and white, due to which its story and the time shown have a good impact.

Loopholes

This is based on a true story, and I personally had a bit more expectations from this film, especially regarding the writing, because we get to hear and see about the torture that Peter has endured, but it is not shown anywhere on the screen.

Due to the lack of impact that should have been made, all the scenes of torture are not able to be read properly.

There was also a war sequence, but it was cut short due to the film's length of two hours and fourteen minutes.

In other words, the story does not have much to show, so keep your expectations low and its length is also felt, especially in the second half.

Look, Hollywood has already made a lot of films based on such topics; if you've seen them all, you'll feel the same way about this one; however, if you enjoy watching true events inspired films and dramas, it's worth it for you.

And yes, without watching this film, it will get a lot of negative response from two types of audiences. One audience is angry with Will Smith because of whatever happened in the Oscar The other audience is the white audience, which despises any show that depicts white oppression of black people.

So maybe that's why this film has to bear a lot of hate, while this film is not bad at all from any angle.

Conclusion

And yes, if you want, you can watch this film with family, etc., but here you will get to see a lot of blood or violence, and you will also get to hear some adult language, so how did you guys like this film? Do give your opinions in the comments, and don't forget to give me one heart.
