'Dragon Ball Super' Manga Trailer: Granola The Survivor Arc + New Characters Revealed

Greetings, my fellow readers and 'Dragon Ball Super' fans!

I have a massive 'Dragon Ball Super' manga trailer for you guys and it is going to change the landscape of Dragon Ball forever.

Meet a new villain, Granola.

According to a manga source, which is from Viz Media, the anticipated manga debut of 'Granola The Survivor Arc' has already begun. For further proof, the above video is the trailer for the manga series. Now, the trailer was sent from Shueisha Inc, the same company I explained about in my previous Dragon Ball Super article here.

In this particular trailer, it is a teaser for things to come (new characters, new enemies, new rivals, story plots, etc.), which is pretty darn exciting. As for the color aspect for each character, it will be exciting to see once everything turns into an anime. Now based on my knowledge, the full color in the chapters will come out possibly later this year.

A Potential Color Manga Preview

Kudos to @MonttArt on Twitter for finding this color. This color may be the one to appear once the manga is completed. The overall texture and lighting, along with the ink around the edges of the coloring looks amazing.

I know one thing for certain.

Once the manga coloring is finished, it will definitely look like the 'Dragon Ball Super: Broly' movie animation artwork.

Today, I want to dissect about this amazing manga trailer with my readers.

So let's get right to it!

Planet Cereal

First off, the manga came out last week and is still in development. I know I am a bit late for today's manga news, but had to cover it for you guys. So far, this manga is originally drafted by our very own Akira Toriyama as you see the beginning of the trailer.

The trailer above also let us know that Toriyama is the lead writer for the story as well.

The Great Apes Invasion on Planet Cereal

The draft has already been written and the overall story is finished. Now, Toyotaro is currently adapting it, but changes may be happening later in the story. As the trailer continues, you will see a few of the 'Great Apes' terrorizing a planet. Next, you will see a sign that says, "once the invasion of Freiza's army" in the subtitles.

So to explain that passage, the Frieza's army had invaded the planet long ago. As the trailer transitions, the Great Ape that showed up is indeed Bardock, showing some scars on his face. Maybe this particular planet allowed him to get those scars.

The next scene on the writing says, "the survivor," which can only mean one person....the villain Granola himself.

As the scene progresses, we will see an amazing shot of Granola about to use his eye shooting technique in the above image. The sniper range with the finger looks so cool from that angle. This move is Granola's own version as the 'Sniperova.'

Not a bad name right?

This move looks similar to Frieza's 'death beam' but with more flair.

Overall, its a badass move.

The 'Strongest Sniper'

Next, it shows Granola as the 'strongest sniper,' with his eyes red, and this stance tells us who he is already. Granola kind of looks like a Saiyan in this art version of him. Then it will introduce us to 'Granola' with the color on him.

(Mastered) Ultra Instinct Goku

On the next scene, it shows Goku and it says, "he mastered Ultra Instinct and aiming for further heights." This means, Goku will surpass his current mastered state to get to a higher level, which is completely insane. Goku may very well aim to reach Whis' level by the time this arc is over.

You never know.

I really love this picture of Goku in his mastered form. It fits well with the new arc story and can't wait for his involvement going forward.

Vegeta

Then comes our boy, the 'Prince of All Saiyans,' Vegeta. Foe Vegeta, it says, 'trying to master a 'new technique' of the gods.' So basically, Vegeta will somehow learn a new godly technique in this arc, which will be his role.

The question is, what kind of technique will it be?

We will see as the manga releases the rest of the drafts. We all know that this new godly technique will be different than Ultra Instinct.

The Heeter Army

The next scene shows a Bojack type of person and the reading says, "defeat frieza and aim for supremacy of the universe." So the name of the new group for this arc is the "Heeters," who will try to overthrow Frieza's army. This group are enemies of Frieza, along with Granola. At some point, Frieza will appear in this arc and confront old enemies.

Frieza has a lot of enemies now (laughs). I am not feeling sorry for Frieza one bit. For some reason, the 'Heeters' look similar to Bojack and his group right?

The Main Characters

At the end of the trailer, it shows all of the main characters (Goku, Vegeta, Granola, & the Heeter Army) for the new arc, which looks insanely cool. All of these warriors will clash for sure. So at some point later on the manga, there will be a big showdown.

To top it off, it showed the Dragon Ball Super logo with the arc name "Dragon Ball Super: Granola Arc."

My Thoughts

Overall, the trailer was everything I expected and more. The trailer introduced us to a new villain, new group, Goku mastered Ultra Instinct, and Vegeta mastering a new godly technique is what will draw us to read the manga even more. I am interested about the story about Granola and the backstory of Planet Cereal.
