For fans of the Dragon Ball franchise who might have been worried about where (and if) the story would go anywhere after the Future Trunks Saga concluded — and Dragon Ball Super began airing one-shot episodes — you can put those worries to rest. We have new information regarding the next major story arc to take place on #DragonBallSuper.
A promo image from the #DragonBall manga has been revealed and provides us with our first glimpse at what will take place in the Universal Survival Saga of Dragon Ball Super.
In addition to our first look at the next major story arc for Dragon Ball Super, an official teaser has been released, providing us with a synopsis for the new arc.
All the Gods of Destruction and Kaioshins assemble, and an inter-universe martial arts competition is announced. Each universe has 10 representatives. Losing universes are immediately annihilated. The ultimate martial arts tournament begins, with the survival of their own universes on the line. The curtain rises on the new chapter, Universe Survival arc!! Airing on Fuji TV, 9 a.m. on Sundays, beginning February 5th, 2017.
The image of the Universe 6 fighters also teases two interesting additions to the team: Gohan and Android 17. Gohan was already expected to become a fighter again after he requested that Piccolo retrain him during the Golden Frieza Saga, so the character of most interest here is Android 17.
How Android 17 has returned is still to be determined. Other than the promotional image from the #manga page, no other information has been released. But there are some theories already floating around.
Then there's also the attire Android 17 is wearing in the promo image — namely, a band on his arm that says "ranger." That word might mean nothing, but there's a very good possibility the title of ranger could be symbolic of 17's occupation before he was turned into an android. If so, that would mean the 17 teased in the image is from the past, before he was turned into an android by Dr. Gero.
Regardless of his past, this Android 17 looks ready to join with #Goku and his former enemies in their efforts to save their universe from destruction in the inter-universe martial arts tournament.
All Will Be Revealed
It'll be interesting to see how and why Android 17 is seen in the promo for the upcoming Universal Survival Saga of Dragon Ball Super. He appears to be joining Android 18 and the rest of the competitors fighting on behalf of Universe 6, so he must be somewhat different to his evil counterpart from Dragon Ball Z.

My Review of "Blast from the Past"
Blast from the Past is a romantic comedy from 1999. It's not very well known despite the star power in its cast. At the time these stars were very popular and you can tell that the studio was trying to cash in on their popularity. This was party the downfall of this movie because at the core of this movie we have a pretty interesting concept. There are a lot of fun ideas that they added to this mix but they never reached it's potential.
