Spoiler Warning: This article contains major spoilers for Do Deewane Seher Mein, including the complete story and ending.

Do Deewane Seher Mein Story Explained

Do Deewane Seher Mein follows Shashank Sharma, played by Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Roshni Srivastava, played by Mrunal Thakur. On the surface, they appear to be ordinary young professionals trying to build their lives in Mumbai. Inside, however, both carry insecurities that have shaped almost every important decision they make.

Shashank works in marketing but lacks confidence while speaking publicly because of the way he pronounces certain sounds. His fear becomes especially serious whenever he has to deliver a presentation.

Roshni’s struggle is different. She has spent years believing she is not attractive enough. Her complexion, nose and overall appearance have become sources of self-doubt, while her glasses almost function like a protective shield between her and the world.

Their paths cross through an arranged-marriage meeting.

Instead of immediately beginning a typical Bollywood romance, Roshni rejects Shashank. But Shashank is genuinely interested in her and wants to understand why she said no.

Eventually, Roshni admits the truth: she does not believe she is beautiful enough.

For Shashank, this makes little sense because he already sees something in her that she is unable to see in herself.

Shashank and Roshni Fall in Love

Shashank tells Roshni that he likes her exactly as she is, and their connection slowly develops into a relationship.

The important part is that neither character suddenly becomes confident after falling in love. Their insecurities remain.

That is what gives Do Deewane Seher Mein its central theme: love can support someone, but another person cannot completely heal the way you see yourself.

The couple keeps their relationship private from their families. Trouble arrives when Shashank’s father pressures him into meeting another potential bride named Sonia.

Shashank goes to meet Sonia but does not tell Roshni beforehand.

Unfortunately, Roshni sees them together at a café.

Shashank tries to explain that Sonia already knows about his relationship with Roshni, but Roshni’s existing trust issues and insecurities take control. Instead of listening to him, she ends the relationship.

Why Do Roshni and Shashank Reunite?

Their separation does not completely erase their feelings.

Later, Roshni sees Shashank’s holiday videos on social media and begins thinking about him again. Eventually, they meet, communicate more openly and decide to give their relationship another chance.

But reconciliation does not magically remove their emotional problems.

After they reunite and become engaged, another seemingly small moment creates conflict.

Shashank tells Roshni that she looks good without her glasses.

For most people, this might sound like a harmless compliment. For Roshni, however, it touches one of her deepest insecurities. She interprets the comment as another suggestion that she needs to change her appearance before she can be considered beautiful.

The problem is not really the glasses.

It is everything Roshni believes they represent.

Naina Helps Roshni Understand Shashank

Roshni’s sister Naina eventually helps her look at the situation differently.

She makes Roshni understand that being judged by someone for your appearance is very different from being loved by someone who already accepts you.

Shashank was never asking Roshni to become another person.

That realization becomes an important turning point.

At the same time, Shashank is facing his own emotional test.

He is asked to give an important presentation at work—the exact situation he has spent years avoiding because of his speech insecurity.

His fear becomes so overwhelming that he considers leaving his job rather than confronting it.

Do Deewane Seher Mein Ending Explained

Roshni finally goes to Shashank and encourages him not to run away.

Shashank agrees to deliver the presentation.

The climax is powerful because he does not suddenly develop perfect speech. Instead, he stands in front of people and speaks despite the insecurity that has controlled him for years.

The audience applauds him.

Roshni arrives to support him—and importantly, she appears without her glasses.

Why Does Roshni Remove Her Glasses?

Roshni removing her glasses should not be interpreted as the film saying that she becomes more beautiful without them.

The moment is symbolic.

Throughout the story, her appearance and glasses are connected to the emotional barriers she has created around herself. Removing them shows that she is finally willing to stop hiding behind the version of herself created by other people’s judgments.

Similarly, Shashank’s presentation represents his decision to stop allowing his speech difference to determine what he can or cannot achieve.

Neither character becomes “perfect.”

They simply stop believing that perfection is required.

Do Shashank and Roshni Get Married?

Yes.

After confronting their insecurities, Shashank and Roshni openly express their love for each other, and the film ends with them getting married.

Their wedding is not important because marriage magically solves their problems. It matters because both characters reach the relationship only after taking an important step toward accepting themselves.

That is the real meaning behind the ending of Do Deewane Seher Mein.

It is ultimately a story about two imperfect people discovering that love is not about correcting every flaw—it is about being seen, accepted and still choosing each other.
