Diary of a Working Housewife (Part 9)

I must say this pandemic has us all looking for the next best series to get hooked on. With all gyms, parks, beaches, malls, and restaurants closed staying home without losing our minds has become a second job. We all need the distraction at a time like this and there is so much housework you can actually do before you go insane. I, myself have gone from one binge-watching to another and I can give you a few shows that will keep you glued to the TV and sending your kids to eat chocolate in their room just so they could leave you alone (not that I've done that).

Let's start with the show that will place all shows to the back of the line, "The Last Kingdom". Netflix's description of the show says; -As Alfred the Great defends his kingdom from Norse invaders, Uhtred -- born a Saxon but raised by Vikings -- seeks to claim his ancestral birthright. Uhtred, who you will get to know as "Oh my God", is taken as a child by Vikings after they kill his father during a battle. He soon wins the heart of the Viking leader and is raised alongside his children as a Viking. You will see a small amount of Uhtred as a child and then it will jump to a scene that shows him emerging from a lake as a man and at that point you will no longer know what day it is and if you have ever eaten. Hours will turn into days and days into weeks. You are now hooked. Yes, you're welcome! The great news is that there are four seasons to watch so take your time and enjoy the scenery. Now, I am not saying this show is only for women. Guys, there is plenty of bloodshed, betrayal, sex, and nudity. NO KIDS ALLOWED in the room, please.

My second pick is the series "Locked Up", or as it's really called "Vis a Vis" which means face to face. This Spanish series with English subtitles is about a young woman named Macarena Ferreiro who is set up by her lover to take the blame for corporate fraud.

Macarena, finds herself locked up in a high-security women's prison surrounded by tough, ruthless criminals. She soon has to learn how to survive in the world of the Alpha-takes-all. This series resembles the series "Orange Is The New Black" but the twist and turns are more intense. I personally found "Locked Up" more interesting. With four seasons of love, violence, betrayal, sex, and nudity to keep you watching, I honestly think this series is a must-watch!

Last but not least....the series "Black Summer" is a good watch for those who love Zombie shows and movies. This series starts at the beginning of a zombie apocalypse. A family gets separated while trying to evacuate. Their daughter is taken by the military to "safety" while they are not allowed on the military vehicle. This series shows different people and how they end up trying to survive the chaos. Eventually, those complete strangers band together to find a way to survive and help a mother find her child. There is only one season at the moment pending the second season that still says "Coming Soon". Don't rush through this one folks or you will be waiting around wanting more!
