Dead Boy Detectives Review

Yesterday, one of the much-awaited shows was released on the Netflix platform. The name is Dead Boy Detectives. The specialty of this series is that it belongs to the Sandman universe, so if you have seen Sandman, then it is a good thing, but if not, some references will go over your head.

So I just finished watching the series Dead Boy Detectives, and whatever experiences I have after digesting it, I am going to share them, so join in.

Basic details: To finish watching this series, you will have to go through a total of eight episodes, each lasting around one hour, which means overall it is a very long show.

The best thing now is that it is also available in Hindi, and its Hindi quality is superb.

Along with brief nudity, kissing is also seen in the show, so pay attention to this.

Story

Now, if we come to the story, there are two dead boys, which means they are dead, and currently, they are solving ghost cases in the form of detectives. After death, why do they not want to be born again on earth? It will become clear to you when you sit down to watch the series, but as they solve cases one after the other, they start making more friends, and the team of Dead Boy Detectives gradually expands.

But the twist of the show is that as they keep solving cases, at the same time some other mysterious things start happening with them, regarding monsters and creatures. So what are those things, and what are the consequences of all the cases they are solving? To know what impact it will have on their lives, you will have to watch this show.

Dead Boy Detectives Review

Now if I have to define this series for you in one line, then I would just say that it's lighthearted fun to watch.

Dead Boy Detectives is a show that's great for younger audiences who want each episode to have a different mystery, lots of funny characters, some action pieces, ghost creatures, or monsters. Overall, you are not bored throughout the content. You don't have to think too much; just sit back and enjoy. So in this scenario, Dead Boy Detectives is that show that should definitely be on your watch-list.

This series has been completely made with young viewers in mind. I mean, its flavor is such that when you have watched Stranger Things for the first time, you should expect the same fun from this show.

Let me tell you, if you are a mature audience, then perhaps this series is not for you and may not give you anything because, as I said, it was made for a younger audience only, not a mature audience.

The number of cases, etc., seen in each episode is without any doubt interesting to watch, as is the mystery, suspense, or way dead boys solve cases; that factor somehow keeps you tied to the story, and that too with a rope.

The characters are interesting, and their chemistry has been executed very well.

In the series, comedy has also been used well to establish the chemistry of the characters through drama.

As the series progresses, you start getting invested in the funny arc of the characters. The rest of the series will not disappoint you in terms of production value, actors' performances, etc.

Problem

There are a lot of problems with the show. All the cases that are seen will not be able to work at all as an experience or for a mature audience because you will find many predictability issues in them.

A little horror theme has been explored in the series, but that horror will work only for children, and a mature audience might laugh out loud after watching that type of horror stuff.

If I tell you something about myself, I did not feel anything new in this show. Whatever stuff I get to see, I have already seen it in shows all over the world.

The show isn't as good as it could be because it includes stuff that doesn't matter or fit in with the main story.

Conclusion

Overall, if you are looking for a lighthearted, fun-to-watch adventure show in which you get to see ghosts, creatures, monsters, cases, etc., then go check it out. It's best not to expect too much. Still, it's digestible entertainment, especially for teens.

Due to some cases, the series reaches a very dark tone, and I would definitely like you to have that experience.

There is no newness in the series, but overall, the series did not bore me anywhere, although it didn't quite meet my expectations., and in the end, I was disappointed.

So if you have also seen the Dead Boy Detectives series, I'd love to hear what you think too.
