Dominic Purcell took to Instagram to announce his departure from the long running CW series The Legends of Tomorrow. It seems there was more to the dispute than meets the eye and it makes you wonder about all the things circling around this particular studio in recent weeks.

The CW which is owned by CBS and WarnerMedia has now shown that the issues plaguing the film universe may now be finding their way into the TV side of things. Purcell indicated that no matter what amount the studio throws at him there is no hope for return. Having invested 6 years of his own blood sweat and tears, for Purcell who has never been this vocal about a turbulent production things must have drastically fallen off in the past little while.

Everywhere you turn lately, WarnerMedia, Warner Bros, HBOa Max they all seem to be stepping in their own way. Announce a Peacemaker series but allow a long time regular like Purcell to just walk with this much frustration? Whatever happened to taking care of your own? Being one big creative happy family?

It's easy to place the blame in this case because it all the bread crumbs lead back to the same place. The hiring of Geoff Johns and the drive to make WB more humourous despite what the story called for. It seems like long time shows and long time productions have lost their way. Letting go one of your OGs walk while he speaks like this is not a good look for the studio already facing so much backlash for the removal of persons of color. Not that Purcell meets that criteria but his words speak volumes to the treatment others must have been receiving while simply trying to fulfill a contract and make a career.

Purcell had a career before this series. He has a notable Prison Break fame and has shown via his Instagram that even a near death experience did not remove his desire to be on that show. For everyone who has been treated unfairly by WB, WarnerMedia this is an eye opening experience.

Many fans have been tweeting for months #IStandwithRayFisher and that they feel their voices have not been heard. While there seems to be very little that can be done to bring Purcell back aboard the Waverider or perhaps bring Fisher back to Victor Stone, what needs to happen is the future needs to be protected. If WB can do this to noted stars like Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Charisma Carpenter and Michelle Trachtenberg then imagine what they are doing to the people too afraid to speak about their tumultuous time with the company. Someone who wouldn't have been as brave as Ray Fisher was to stand for accountability over Entertainment or someone who just didn't want to blast them on Instagram because they just don't need the stress anymore.

WB, there is no hiding anymore. Fans across all your platforms are feeling the heat (pun intended) that you put on your actors and talent. They have had enough and throwing that fire back. It seems they have knack for disrespecting their fire based characters as of late with word El Diablo was supposed to survive to survive Suicide Squad. It makes me wonder if there was another reason Firestorm was written out of this series.

Fans should not be the ones point at the studio saying that these talented people they are ushering out the door are their lifelines to telling great stories. Whether or not you like Legends personally you must see it's doubtful this was the way Purcell wanted it to end. How could it be the way anyone would want it to end? Its not a beautiful ride into the sunset. It's an actor saying he is fed up with suits meddling in his business trying to undercut him.
