Courtney Hope is set to cause drama on The Young and the Restless

Only two weeks after being fired by The Bold and the Beautiful, the lovely Courtney Hope has a new job. She will soon be seen on CBS sister soap The Young and the Restless. Nothing has been said yet regarding the name of her character or how she will fit into Genoa City society. What is known is that she is going to cause drama. The actress confirmed on her Instagram account that she will be working for The Young and the Restless so fans know this news is true. There had been rumors that when Y&R fired Daniel Goddard, he was going to The Bold and the Beautiful as a possible love interest for Steffy Forrester. Instead, B&B hired Tanner Novlin who does the Liberty Mutual Commercials.

Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful are happy for Hope and believe that her character Sally Spectra was underutilized. When Sally Spectra first came to LA she was a fiery redhead. She held her own with Thomas Forrester but the writers decided to take her character down a dark path. She ripped off Forrester fashions, then lost her own Fashion House when Dollar Bill purchased the property and had it razed. She disappeared for a while then showed up on Wyatt's doorstep broke and disgusted. The two fell in love and she got a job designing for Forrester Creations.

Trouble came her way again when Wyatt's high school sweetheart Flo Fulton came to town. Wyatt dumped Sally and she faked that she was dying in an effort to win him back. Viewers were outraged to see this once vibrant character wearing pale makeup to look sick and pretend she needed a walker. Many viewers said they believed that when the truth came out that Sally was done in LA and they were right. Others were hoping perhaps she and Thomas might get together and lick their wounds. For whatever reason, The Bold and the Beautiful did not develop Sally Spectra and perhaps it was always a losing battle.

Sally's aunt had bad blood for decades with the Forresters and trying to resurrect her fashion house probably was not a good idea. There was no way that Spectra could compete with Forrester. Now that Hope is headed to The Young and the Restless it will be interesting to see how her character is developed. Y&R fans are troubled because a number of fan favorites are not getting any air time and may resent someone new coming in. Laura and Michael, Kevin and Chloe, Paul and Christine are all on the back burner. If Courtney Hope's character is placed front and center, the viewers will not like it.

There have also been rumors that Kristian Alfonso, who just left Dsys of Our Lives after 37 years is being hired by The Young and the Restless. Her character is supposed to be a possible romantic interest for Jack. There are not currently any available men in Courtney Hopes age range so she could be a new employee at Jabot or a love interest who will battle Lola for Theo or possibly Summer for Kyle. If both Alfonso and Hope are hired by the CBS daytime drama, fans will probably start demanding to see more of the veteran actors who are on the sidelines. Soap Dirt reported last week that Kevin and Rey could possibly be written out of the show. If Kevin goes then Chloe and the baby will likely go with him.

Some Y&R fans are still upset that Daniel Goddard was fired from his role as Cane Ashby and Judith Chapman was never rehired as Gloria Bardwell. There were also rumors that Theo and Lola were out but on Friday Theo was hired by Chancellor and Lola said she was staying in Genoa City, Now that Sally is gone from The Bold and the Beautiful it does not mean that Wyatt and Flo will have smooth sailing.
