Conchata Ferrell now living in a Long-Term Care Facility

One of the greatest women actresses of all time

Conchata Ferrell is one of the greatest women actresses alive that I know. She's funny, she's quick on comebacks and she doesn't put up with stupid if you know what I mean. Are you familiar with the sitcom, 'Two and a Half Men?' She was Berta who played the housekeeper with Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer.

After gathering more information on her playing that role, she had told someone in the past that Berta's character is nothing like her true personal self. Though it seems hard to imagine, Conchata is not a daring, bold or mouthy person. She even proclaimed that there were things her character said and did that she would not even dream of repeating but you wouldn't realize that unless she told you straight out. That's how good of an actress she really is. She told sources that she played the character exactly the way the writers wanted but in her own voice. Her ideas in creating this awesome character brought huge success to the sitcom. Everyone loved her. I know I did.

Two and a Half Men September 2011

Sadly, I had just heard from a well-known television news source last week that she is now living in a long-term care facility after suffering a heart attack. Previously, she had spent the last four weeks in the intensive care unit after having a heart attack that lasted ten minutes. Since that time, she has been transferred to this facility where she is currently on a respirator as well as also on dialysis. Beforehand, she had been suffering from a kidney infection during the winter of 2019. Things just continued to get much worse for her. She was hoping to get back into acting again after going back to Los Angeles earlier this year but blood contamination from the kidney infection and heart attack has put everything on hold until she's 100% better. She had said last year that she had no idea how she got a kidney infection because she was never known to become really sick. So this was kind of something that came up unexpectedly.

Due to the current pandemic, her husband Arnie is unable to visit her but he frequently keeps updated by her nurses so he's always in the know of what's going on. He and the family are hoping for the best and only time will tell when it comes to her physical recovery because it's neurological. She's currently semi-conscious and unable to speak or communicate in other ways. I feel so sorry for her and hoping she can make it through to a full recovery.

Conchata has also played other roles in shows all the way back to the mid-1980's including LA Law and has won a couple of Emmy nominations throughout her career. She has always struggled with her weight for several decades and almost lost some acting roles because of it but what helped her out is that the characters she had played called for the full-figure weight. She had once said that it has been very difficult to lose weight as she has been dealing with a compulsive overeating disorder that's been difficult to stop. By the time that the Two and a Half Men series had ended, she had started to take some healthy steps towards eating more fruits and vegetables as well as starting a healthy habit of brisk walking. This had helped her to lose some weight.

Family, friends and fans are keeping her in prayer as well that she is able to make it through this. I would love to see her fully recover and get back into acting for a little while longer.
