Spoiler Warning: This article contains major spoilers for Clean Up Company Season 1, including the final episode and ending.

Clean Up Company begins like a dark crime thriller but gradually turns into a story about three ordinary young men becoming trapped inside a criminal system much bigger than they ever imagined. Raju, Swapan and Goldie initially want money and a better future. Instead, one accidental death pulls them into the violent underworld of Saribgunj, where gangsters, politicians, corrupt connections and buried secrets control almost everything.

By the finale, their so-called Clean Up Company is no longer simply about disposing of bodies. It becomes the centre of a gang war involving Mejda, Dharam, Sultan, Abbas, Laila, the police and the mysterious Borda.

And the biggest surprise comes when Borda, believed to belong to the past, finally appears in person.

How Does the Clean Up Company Begin?

Raju, Swapan and Goldie are introduced as three young men struggling with money and uncertain futures.

Goldie dreams of becoming a singer rather than taking responsibility for his family's brick kiln. Raju works at a garage and is in a relationship with Manisha, who works around the postmortem department. Swapan is academically talented and preparing for civil service examinations, but financial problems constantly interfere with his ambitions.

Their lives change after a kidnapping goes horribly wrong.

Through Kalua and the criminal network surrounding Abbas, Raju and Swapan become involved in abducting a man. When they reach their destination, they discover that the kidnapped man is already dead.

Now the gang has a corpse that needs to disappear.

Swapan comes up with a solution: burn the body in Goldie's brick kiln so that evidence cannot easily be found.

The plan works.

More importantly, they get paid.

That money changes everything.

Instead of treating the incident as a terrifying warning, Raju begins seeing corpse disposal as a business opportunity. If criminals are willing to pay large amounts of money to remove evidence, the three friends can earn far more than they could through ordinary jobs.

That is effectively the birth of the Clean Up Company.

Why Do Raju, Swapan and Goldie Keep Cleaning Crime Scenes?

At first, money is the main attraction.

But very quickly, choice disappears.

Gangsters begin using them whenever a murder needs to be hidden. Bodies must be removed, vehicles cleaned and evidence destroyed before the police can connect anything to the killers.

The trio becomes surprisingly efficient.

Manisha's knowledge also helps Raju understand how evidence can survive at a crime scene. Gloves, blood, fingerprints and other forensic traces become things the boys must constantly think about.

Their success eventually attracts Mejda.

Mejda is not merely another gangster. He has political ambitions and wants to maintain an image of stability in Saribgunj. Open murders, bodies appearing everywhere and uncontrolled gang violence could damage his chances during the election.

So he sees value in the three boys.

His gangs can continue their violence, while the Clean Up Company makes the evidence disappear.

Swapan even establishes a price for disposing of bodies.

For a short period, the arrangement makes Raju, Swapan and Goldie rich.

But their new wealth comes with a terrible condition: they cannot simply quit.

Why Can't the Three Friends Leave Saribgunj?

Goldie's dream is to earn enough money and eventually move to Kolkata to pursue singing.

However, Dharam makes the real rules clear.

The boys now know too much.

They have seen murders, bodies, gang members and evidence connected with powerful people. If they leave Saribgunj, they could expose the entire criminal network from somewhere beyond Mejda's control.

Dharam therefore makes it clear that leaving town could cost them their lives.

The boys finally understand what their money has actually bought them.

They are not businessmen.

They are prisoners.

The Clean Up Company that initially looked like an easy route to wealth has turned into a trap.

Why Is SP Malik Suspicious of Raju?

While the gangs repeatedly try to keep everything hidden, SP Malik continues noticing details that do not make sense.

One important clue involves an ambulance.

Raju claims that he is taking the ambulance for servicing, but Malik later learns that the kind of funding supposedly being used for the repair does not actually exist.

That contradiction puts Raju on his radar.

Later, Malik stops a tow truck carrying Raju, Goldie and Swapan. When the vehicle being towed is inspected, blood is found inside the trunk.

The three friends claim they were simply hired to tow a client's vehicle and knew nothing about the blood.

A lawyer connected to Mejda eventually gets them released, but Malik's suspicions do not disappear.

His investigation gradually leads toward an older mystery involving a car accident and a man named Borda.

Who Is Borda and Why Is Everyone Afraid of Him?

Borda becomes one of the biggest mysteries in Clean Up Company.

During a religious ceremony near a peepal tree, a strange locket associated with Borda is discovered. The reaction is immediate.

Even Mejda appears frightened.

SP Malik becomes interested because Borda is connected to an old vehicle accident. The investigation eventually brings him to Raju's family because Raju's father was connected with the vehicle involved in that incident.

Mejda does not want Malik digging deeper into the past.

Using his influence, he complains about the officer, and Malik is eventually suspended.

But his suspension does not stop his investigation.

This becomes extremely important during the ending.

What Is Laila's Real Plan?

Laila initially appears to be a dancer trying to get close to Mejda.

Her real motivation is revenge.

She plans to enter Mejda's house during a performance, retrieve a hidden gun and kill him. The assassination attempt fails when Mejda unexpectedly leaves after learning that Raju, Swapan and Goldie have been arrested.

Later, Laila's full history is revealed.

Mejda is her uncle, and according to her story, Mejda and Dharam were involved in killing her father. A woman who worked for her family later raised Laila.

She has returned to settle that old score.

The mysterious Borda locket that terrified Mejda was also planted by Laila.

She wants Mejda to believe that something from his violent past has returned for him.

Once Raju, Swapan and Goldie understand Laila's motives, they begin using the Borda legend themselves.

Rumours spread through Saribgunj that Borda's ghost has returned.

Fear becomes a weapon.

Why Does Abbas Turn Against Everyone?

Abbas becomes increasingly dangerous as the story progresses.

Once the Clean Up Company exists, he feels that murders can easily be erased. Instead of controlling his violence, he begins killing more people because he assumes Raju, Swapan and Goldie can simply clean everything afterward.

Sultan eventually becomes furious because all this cleaning costs money.

When Sultan humiliates Abbas and treats him like a servant, Abbas decides that he wants power for himself.

He no longer wants to remain somebody else's man.

He wants his own empire.

Abbas approaches the three friends and offers them direct business. He wants them working for him rather than simply taking smaller jobs from different gangsters.

This leads directly toward a much larger conflict.

What Happens During the Massacre?

Abbas and his men attack a location where Sultan and several others are present.

The attack turns into a massacre.

People inside are killed, and the Clean Up Company is brought in afterward.

Raju, Swapan and Goldie attempt to make the crime appear connected to Dharam. Evidence is planted to redirect suspicion, while Goldie cleans the CCTV cameras.

However, there is one major complication.

Laila survived.

She hid under the stage during the shooting.

The trio takes her away before police arrive, but Laila reveals that her phone was left behind and contains important evidence.

Manisha manages to recover it from the crime scene.

Laila later escapes temporarily and retrieves the evidence, but she is eventually caught again by the boys.

Instead of simply becoming another problem, however, she explains her history and offers them something much bigger: a way to fight back.

Why Does Kalua's Death Change Swapan?

The situation becomes personal when Abbas kills Kalua.

Kalua had been connected with the criminal world from the beginning, but he was also Swapan's friend.

When Abbas calls Swapan and Raju to dispose of another body, they are horrified to discover that the corpse is Kalua.

Swapan breaks down.

The criminal business that once seemed like an easy path to money has now consumed someone personally connected to him.

The friends finally understand that nobody around them is safe.

Their families can become targets.

Their friends can become bodies they are ordered to destroy.

And eventually, they themselves could become the next cleaning job.

What Is the Truth About Raju's Father?

Another late twist involves Raju's father.

Everyone believes that he is paralysed and unable to speak.

Mejda even visits him hoping to discover what he knows about the old Borda incident.

However, the series reveals that Raju's father is not truly incapable of speaking.

He has been hiding the truth.

This confirms that the old accident and Borda's history contain secrets that Mejda desperately wants buried.

The past has not disappeared.

It has simply been waiting.

Clean Up Company Ending Explained: Why Does Borda Return?

The finale brings the major players together around Mejda's hidden fortune.

Goldie reveals information to Dharam about what really happened during the attack on Sultan and how evidence had been manipulated.

At the same time, Swapan also makes his move against Mejda.

Then Raju arrives with the police.

The gangsters are taken to an isolated location. The atmosphere makes it look as though an encounter or execution could be coming.

Then an unexpected man arrives.

He is the same mysterious figure teased at the beginning of the series.

And now the truth is revealed.

The man is Borda.

SP Malik had not wasted his time while suspended. He had continued digging into Borda's past, and the mysterious man everyone feared was not simply a ghost story created by Laila.

Borda is alive.

His return transforms the entire ending.

Does Borda Kill Abbas and Dharam?

Yes.

Borda immediately begins settling the unfinished business connected with Saribgunj's criminal world.

Abbas is killed.

Dharam is also killed.

These deaths are particularly significant because both men had spent much of the season believing that fear, violence and political protection made them untouchable.

Borda represents the past returning to punish people who believed their crimes had been permanently buried.

But the series refuses to show everything that happens next.

After killing Abbas and Dharam, Borda raises his weapon again.

The target is deliberately kept unclear.

That unanswered moment creates the season's biggest cliffhanger.

What Happens to Laila and Mejda's Money?

While the confrontation involving Borda unfolds, Laila is travelling by train.

Mejda's money is also being transported.

A confrontation is deliberately created during the journey, allowing the police to become involved and Mejda's men to be caught.

The plan effectively destroys another major source of Mejda's power: his hidden wealth and the people protecting it.

Laila's revenge therefore becomes much bigger than simply shooting Mejda.

She attacks the structure supporting him.

His men, his secrets, his money and his political position are all placed in danger.

Do Raju, Swapan and Goldie Die in the Ending?

This is the central unanswered question of the Clean Up Company ending.

The series does not clearly show Raju, Swapan and Goldie's final fate.

Borda has already killed Abbas and Dharam when he prepares to strike again, but the scene does not reveal exactly who receives the next attack.

That ambiguity appears intentional.

The three friends began the story wanting ordinary things: money, careers and freedom.

They then chose an illegal shortcut.

Every corpse they removed took them deeper into a world from which escape became harder.

By the finale, they have finally tried to turn against the system controlling them, but whether they survive long enough to actually escape remains unknown.

What Does the Final Cliffhanger Mean?

The ending brings the series back to one of its central ideas: a crime can be cleaned, but the past cannot always be erased.

Raju, Swapan and Goldie build an entire business around removing evidence.

Mejda builds his political influence around controlling violence.

Abbas believes murder has no consequences when somebody else can remove the body.

Laila tries to weaponize an old legend.

Yet Borda's return proves that certain secrets survive regardless of how carefully people try to bury them.

The man who seemed almost mythical is real.

And once Borda enters the story personally, the balance of power completely changes.

The final unanswered attack also leaves a clear opening for another season. If Raju, Swapan and Goldie survive, their next challenge will no longer be simply cleaning crime scenes. They will have to escape the consequences of everything they helped hide.

Final Thoughts

Clean Up Company turns an unusual premise into a crime story about greed, survival and consequences.

Raju, Swapan and Goldie never begin as hardened criminals. They are young men frustrated by financial problems who discover that criminals will pay them enormous amounts of money to make evidence disappear.

That decision gives them temporary wealth but eventually costs them their freedom.

Laila's revenge, Abbas's ambition, Mejda's political desperation and SP Malik's investigation slowly push every storyline toward Borda.

And when Borda finally appears, the supposedly dead past becomes the most dangerous force in Saribgunj.

The season ends without confirming whether the Clean Up Company survives its final confrontation, making the fate of Raju, Swapan and Goldie the biggest mystery left behind by the finale.

For now, one thing is clear: they may have learned how to clean up other people's crimes, but cleaning up the consequences of their own choices is going to be much harder.
