Chapter 4

Azure, Petal, and Ghavi made their way to the small minivan parked outside. Inside, there were signs of rush and decay as the vehicle appeared unsalvageable. Ghavi pulled the door back to allow the other two to enter. Once inside, Petal gave a sigh of relief.

"Ahhh, it feels good to let our guard down. Keeping up these appearances is tough," Petal exclaimed as she took off her beanie, showing a full head of hair. With one simple sweep of her hand over the top of her head, her bob-cut length hair evaporated from her head and into small, tiny nanomachines.

Each of the three performed the same motion. Sweeping a hand over their heads, each strain of hand evaporated into small bits. Their clothing also, an essential tool that helped them blend in with average Europeans, evaporated into grain-like machines to reveal fitted gray suits.

"So, let's take a look again at the transmission that was left by Lima," Ghavi suggested as he turned to the van dashboard, " we should brief ourselves over any details. With the press of a green button, a hologram appeared where the backseat of the car would be located.

"This is painful to watch," Azure sighed as he turned his attention to the loading hologram message.

"Pay close attention to what she says and…" Petal was interrupted mid-speech as the hologram message began.

"Greetings my friends. If you are watching this recording, it means that my body has expired. While on my mission to Earth, a group of Kursiam attacked my vessel. We had believed that our freedom from the Kusiam was won, but we were mistaken. It seems a group of Kursiam took our leaving as an opportunity to mold Earth as they see fit."

"As for the cargo, sadly, I was unable to save the three T-brains.."

Before Lima could continue, her face twisted as her hand grasped her lower abdomen.

"Excuse me," Lima added once her pain seemingly resided.

"With my last bit of energy, I created this message that you will hopefully receive.

"As stated before, I'm sure the Kursiam have wasted little time using the T-brains to influence humans. This throws our plans of educating humans and bringing our technology to humanity as null."

Petal sighed as the hologram slowly faded. It actually took us ten Earth years to find her ship adrift in a dimensional tunnel. She was current in that the Kusiam who attacked her wasted little time. We have this bit of information. There have been a series of mysterious disappearances in various small communities in the territories of France, Spain, and Italy. According to three reports, some of the men were found but killed themselves as saying a key phrase. This phrase is "For the gods of all time, our immortal minds do elevate." While this small phrase means little to most humans, we recognize this as a mantra from the Kursiam. It seems they may be trying to create another one of their utopias here. Many Earth reports believe it may be an underground cult, but we understand that the Kursiam know how to influence those in high positions before they manipulate a people."

"We must take this information and produce your own strategy," Azure added,"I'm glad we took the necessary steps to collect this information and go into disguise."

"Yes," Ghavi added, "we always do our research before jumping into action...Well, I guess this whole mission if coming to reclaim our technology has been laid at our feet, my friends, Ghavi said as he relaxed into his chair. "Let's not let everyone at G.R.E.T. down."

Azure stood up and nodded his head. "I agree. You guys know I was firmly behind this mission to resettle on Earth. We may be the ancestors of these modern humans but they are our brothers and sisters. Homo-death theory be damned. We are humans too. Let's give our centuries-old saga a sense of closure."

Petal sat silently staring at the ground before finally breaking her silence. She stared at her companions, Azure and Ghavi.

"Unfortunately, we must skip the birthday party. It is sad since those children are sweet but our disguise was only a cover to find an entrance into this cult. I did some research and found reports of a few people missing. It’s obvious Gorn has been busy since he came to Earth. "

Petal paused before clenching her fist.

"We make our move at nightfall."
