Christ McKenna is leaving GH

Soap Opera Digest has confirmed that Chris McKenna will be leaving General Hospital this fall. The news is not totally unexpected for fans who paid close attention to the changes with his character Jack Brennan.

When McKenna was recast for Charles Measure it took fans a while to warm up to him. As his chemistry with Laura Wright (Carly Spencer) developed some viewers believed the two might become a super couple.

This changed after Jack recruited Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) for the WSB. Everyone knew that when Carly found out she would be furious. When she learned the truth she was so angry that she cheated with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and broke Brennan's heart.

What could have been a great romance was destroyed and Jack began getting less screen time. What was really noticeable was that while all of the WSB drama was unfolding Brennan was paralyzed and hospitalized. Everything took place in his jurisdiction on his watch but he was unable to participate.

Brennan should have been at the forefront of what was going on at Wyndamere, but Joss, Cassius Faison (Ryan Peavey), Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) had all the fun.

Once the danger was over Jack had to play catch up. He then began hanging out with Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMillan) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). The Port Charles head of the WSB and his two associates at times came across like the keystone cops.

Brennan has been eased out

Soap fans often can sense when a character is being backed into a corner from which he will not return. This has been the case with Brennan for many months.

Some viewers thought that once he was hospitalized that Carly might visit him and declare her love despite the circumstances. She did not express any concern that her former lover was paralyzed but made it clear she still wanted him to pay for ruining her daughter's life.

There is no word on who will kill him or how he will die. Valentin is not gunning for his old friend now that his assets have been unfrozen and Sidwell had no major beef with him.

Could Jack have a major dispute with Willow or Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and one of them decides to end him? What about Z (John Oliver). Perhaps he decides Brennan needs to be eliminated.

November Sweeps

It's possible that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) could snap and kill Jack after being told to do so by the imaginary Peter August (Wes Ramsey). Brennan might die saving another Port Charles resident.

SOD revealed that Jack will meet his demise in November which is sweeps month. This allows for time for a scenario to present itself and an enemy be revealed.

Will Brennan be replaced or will the Port Charles World Security Bureau office be closed? What does this mean for Joss? Will Carly find a way to get her daughter out of the Bureau or will Josslyn work for them offscreen.

There are many changes taking place with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) finally leaving the mob and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) behind. What will he do with his time and who will now look out for Sonny? There are rumors he will leave the mob soon after Jason.

Ethan Lovett ( Christian Howard) has left town and with Sidwell in jail and no visible threats could GH be closing the chapter on mob violence in Port Charles?

Be on the lookout for General Hospital updates related to when Chris Mckenna will exits and how Jack Brennan will die.
