Can't Wait for Lucifer's Return?

Top 3 Good vs Evil Shows on Netflix to Hold You Over

Lucifer won't need to use his mojo to find out what it is you truly desire because we're all eagerly anticipating the second part of Lucifer Season 5. But unfortunately, Netflix just confirmed we have another 2 months to wait.

But before you go getting upset and all red in the face, why not think about these next two months as a chance to explore some other shows and maybe find a new obsession with someone besides the Devil?

Well if you’re a fan of Lucifer, chances are you’re a deep thinker with an appreciation for forming your own opinions about good vs evil. And it seems you love a gutsy show that dives into the exploration of the two.

You’re also probably the kind of fan that grabs the tissue box and begins weeping when the least-likely-to-change characters go through those amazing moments of growth. Yeah, I see you. I am you.

The good news is that Netflix is full of shows like this, but since we only have two months, I’m just going to give you the scoop on my three favorite ones.

#1 The Blacklist

Who should you fear more than the devil? Okay, probably no one, but a man with a criminal empire sounds like a close second. Especially when he has the FBI on his side. From the Director of the FBI to the husband of the FBI's newest agent, everyone has secrets to hide, some revealed to the viewer and some that we're still guessing about 8 seasons in, with Season 9 on the way.

Within the first few lines spoken by Raymond Reddington, the man with the criminal empire and provider of the blacklist, we get a sense of his incomparable power and ability to call the shots in any way he pleases, at whatever cost it may come to everyone around him.

Does that mean he’s the worst one on the show? Guess you’ll just have to watch and see.

#2 The Good Place

Albeit a little more lighthearted, The Good Place is definitely not without a dark side. I’m sure you’ve already put it together that in any universe where there is a good place, there must also be a bad place.

Filled with adorable and downright delightful characters and relationships, this show will warm your heart while also sending you into an existential spiral (mostly in a good way). All the questions you didn’t know you had about life after death will be explored with such honesty and humanity that you won’t be able to stop watching until you’ve seen it all.

The show might not give you all the answers you want about life and death, but it will surely give you and your friends something to talk about.

#3 The One

If you can tell, there is an authority theme going on in these shows, from law enforcement to the almighty. But despite a couple of cops investigating a murder, The One shifts focus from a typical good vs evil context and directs our attention to the rights and wrongs of love.

I’ll be honest, I’m a sucker for stories about soulmates which makes me an expert on such content, and I can say without a doubt that this show did it right. What do you do if you feel like you’re in a happy marriage but a new app tells you that your soulmate isn’t the person lying next to you at night? What if you finally meet your "one true love" but find out they’re a cheater, a compulsive liar, or dying?

If you want to explore your own opinions about what is right and wrong when it comes to the heart, this show will take you on the roller coaster you’re looking for.

I am a Devil of My Word

From characters that grapple with dark insecurities that reflect your own to storylines that help you answer some of life’s biggest questions, these shows promise a worthwhile viewing experience and quite frankly, will probably change your life.

If you haven’t seen these shows yet, now is the perfect time to tune in while you wait for your favorite winged friend to return.

There is no way you will walk away disappointed in your choice to watch.

With two whole months to pass the time, it's only natural you'll find yourself binging something new so why not make it worth your while?

And when Lucifer returns, you’ll be three shows wiser and three shows deeper as you prepare to embark on new adventures with your half-celestial, half-human group of besties.

And I’ll be happier than Dan with a pudding cup!

Especially when the show does return and we finally find out how the heck Ella is holding up.
