Brytni Sarpy has landed in Salem
The GH and Y&R alum is now part of the DOOL cast.

Brytni Sarpy has not had success in her soap opera roles, but she is returning to daytime on Peacock's Days of Our Lives. Her first soap character was Valerie Spencer on ABC's General Hospital from 2015-2019.
Valerie was the niece of Luke Spencer (Tony Geary) and Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman) and the cousin of Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). She had an affair with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zampragna), who was married to her cousin, Lulu Spencer (now Alexa Havins Bruening).
The actress previously auditioned for the General Hospital roles of Taylor Dubois and Jordan Ashford but was too old for Taylor and too young for Jordan.
Sarpy went from a contract role to recurring status. She was almost in a relationship with Kristina Corinthos Davis (formerly Kate Mansi), but began appearing in fewer episodes, and one day she was gone without any notice.
That same year (2019), she joined the cast of the CBS daytime drama The Young and the Restless as Dr. Elena Dawson (2019–2024) . She was romantically involved with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and his cousin Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).

In real time, Sarpy and James were involved for four years before going their separate ways. They moved in together about a year after they began dating. During that time, James said in an interview that he saw no need for marriage.
However, in March 2025, he married professional dancer Jahaira Myers. The couple separated three months later in June 2025. James filed for divorce in October 2025, and the divorce was finalized in March 2026.
On Y&R, just like GH, Sarpy went from contract to recurring status. Elena's screen time was cut, just like Valerie, and one day she was no longer on the soap.
In 2020 and 2021, she was nominated for the 1st and 2nd Annual Soap Hub Awards for Favorite The Young and the The Restless Actress. From 2020 to 2021, Brytni was in the recurring role of Rianna on The Haves and the Have Nots on the OWN network.
The soap vet was born in California on September 21, 1987, and her parents separated when she was six years old. Sarpy graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
She is a professional dancer who began acting in the theater and, in 2010, was in the film You Again with Jamie Lee Curtis and Sigourney Weaver. She has appeared in many commercials and print ads, including those for Nike, Yahoo!, AT&T, and New Balance.

Sarpy has also been vocal about her mental health struggles with depression and anxiety. She has shared that she dealt a with crippling fear of life.
“I managed my emotions incorrectly for a lot of years,” she went on. “I didn’t grow up with tools, because my parents didn’t grow up with tools, to manage my anger and disappointment.”
Soaps She Knows
She said in the past the depression came in waves and has lasted as long as three years but it's been a while since this has happened.
Days of Our Lives reports that Brytni Sarpy was recently cast in a mystery role. The above image was taken on set, but no details about her character or a first air date have been revealed.
Some fans believe she may be a love interest for Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews), but spoilers are not yet making any projections. Hopefully, whoever she portrays, the character will be developed and remain on screen longer than her previous soap roles. Stay tuned for DOOL updates about Sarpy and the role she will play in Salem.
