Bojack Horseman is Not a Good Guy

Bojack Horseman is one of the best televisions shows ever created, truly focusing on the good and dark side of Hollywood. We follow the story of Bojack Horseman, an actor who was once very popular in his prime years but then faded away once he got older. He was known for a comedy show in his young years, and he never could truly get himself out of that spotlight.

While this is already a decent storyline for Bojack, the show slowly introduces a much darker side to Bojack that the viewer was not expecting. Bojack had an awful childhood. His parents were bad people, treating Bojack horribly, and instead of healing from what he went through, Bojack ended up becoming his parents in his adult years.

And while this is already bad enough, it only gets worse once Bojack interacts with two significant characters in the show, that truly sealed the deal that Bojack is definitely not a good guy.

Bojack attempted to sleep with an underage girl, that happened to be the daughter of an old crush in his younger years.

Bojack knew a woman named Charlotte, and he always had feelings for her during his young years. He never got together with her, and this possible relationship haunted him when he realized that he had messed up with not getting with Charlotte. He reunites with her years later and learns that she is now a mother to two teenage kids, and a wife. She invites him into her home, to catch up on old times. Bojack decides to take Charlotte and her friends to prom, and this quickly goes wrong.

He convinces the group to drink, leading to Bojack making Charlotte ditch her friends in the ER. Later on that night, Charlotte catches her old friend and daughter in the worst outcome imaginable. She catches Bojack about to sleep with her 17-year-old daughter, and she luckily spares Charlotte from that trauma. She threatens to kill Bojack if he were to ever go near her family again, and this vile action completely shatters the bond they both once had.

Bojack got Sarah Lynn killed in the show.

Sarah Lynn was a huge character in the show, right up until her death, at the hands of Bojack Horseman. She had been through so much in her life, being taken advantage of by so many people, instead of caring for her wellbeing. her mother wanted her to become rich and famous; Bojack played her stepfather in the comedy show when she was a kid and was most likely the reason why she started drinking and taking drugs. Bojack also encouraged her behavior of taking these substances, right around the time she wanted to get better.

Worst of all, Bojack literally started having a relationship with her, which was so disturbing on so many levels. She was just a kid when they first met, but that didn't stop his older self with wanting to be with her in that way. Then things got so much worse, when Sarah ended up overdosing on drugs, while having a crazy bender period with Bojack. What's even more heartbreaking, is that he waited almost 20 minutes before calling 911, and her life possibly could have been saved, but he only thought of himself.

Bojack did have a tragic background, but it was his decision to continue that cycle of abuse. He inflicted his pain on others, causing a lot of damage, and it led to even his own close friends cutting him completely from their lives. I'm glad they all had the guts to do this, because they all slowly realized just how dangerous and messed up Bojack actually was.
