Bhooth Bangla begins as a haunted-house story but gradually turns into a supernatural mystery involving an ancient demon, a cursed village, sacrificed brides and one huge final revelation.

The story starts in Mangalpur, a village where locals believe no girl can safely get married. According to an old legend, brides who marry in Mangalpur are mysteriously killed on their wedding night.

The reason behind the curse is connected to a supernatural being called Badhusur.

But the biggest surprise comes much later, when we learn that the hero Arjun himself may not have been alive for most of the story.

Why Does Arjun Come to Mangalpur?

Arjun lives in London with his younger sister Meera and their father Vasudev.

Meera is preparing to marry Rahul, but finding the right wedding venue becomes difficult. Things suddenly change when a lawyer reveals that Meera owns a huge ancestral haveli in India.

Arjun immediately sees an opportunity.

The mansion contains around 200 rooms and could become the perfect location for his sister's wedding. He travels to Mangalpur to inspect the property.

However, the haveli's manager, Shambhunath, warns him that nobody should stay there.

People who previously tried to live inside the mansion supposedly died.

Arjun refuses to believe the supernatural stories and begins preparing the haveli for Meera's wedding.

That decision awakens something dangerous.

Who Is Badhusur?

According to the legend, Badhusur was born from the relationship between an Asura woman and a Devputra.

After performing intense worship, he received a powerful blessing that made him almost impossible to kill. Eventually, an apsara tricked him by agreeing to marry him.

During their wedding ceremony, she attacked him.

Although Badhusur could not be permanently destroyed, the apsara used her powers to imprison him. She later transformed into a giant sacred tree known as Vrikshini, which continued guarding the place where Badhusur was buried.

But Badhusur's spirit remained active.

What Happens to Arjun in the Haveli?

While wedding preparations continue, Arjun starts experiencing strange incidents.

His electrician, Balli, becomes possessed and walks toward Badhusur's temple during the night. Bats gather around the area, and Arjun begins seeing people and supernatural figures that others cannot see.

Because of an electrical problem inside the haveli, Arjun receives a massive electric shock.

Vasudev is not Arjun's biological father.

Raja Dushyant forced events in a direction that resulted in Madhav marrying Yashoda.

Yashoda eventually escaped with Vasudev.

She was already pregnant with Madhav's child.

Why Are 13 Brides Needed?

The horrifying truth is that 12 newly married women have already been sacrificed.

Badhusur's resurrection requires one more bride.

Meera is supposed to become the 13th sacrifice.

Madhav has also become connected to Badhusur's supernatural influence, while Raja Dushyant wants to complete the ritual because he believes it can free his son from the curse.

Arjun tries to cancel Meera's wedding after finally understanding the danger.

But family pressure and conflict over the wedding timing eventually result in the ceremony going ahead at approximately 8:30 PM.

During Meera and Rahul's wedding, a powerful storm arrives.

Is Arjun Dead in Bhooth Bangla?
