We all know that sitting inside your home all day without meeting your friends or going out sucks ! But it's not all bad, here is a list of 10 amazing Netflix shows which are binge-worthy and you should totally check out while getting yourself bored to death in this quarantine. I am not including shows such as "Friends" or "Game of Thrones" because they are forever in our lists and everyone has probably watched them already.

10. Schitt's Creek

If you are looking for a sit-com without the cheesy slapstick jokes and that weird background laugh, Schitt's Creek is for you. The series delves around the story line of a super rich urban family becomes bankrupt and were forced to move in to a weird small town called "Schitt's Creek", which they own apparently. The series has a sense of humor which is smart, sarcastic and sometimes completely over the top. Although the show originally premiered on CBC in 2015 but it has made it's debut on Netflix in 2017. The show has become immensely popular and has won tons of awards since first launched. It has an IMDb rating of 8.3 and 92% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

Seasons - 6

Episodes per Season - 13 to 14

Running Time - 22 to 48 min

Cast - Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Dan Levy and Annie Murphy

9. The OA

This is by far one the smartest and most underrated sci-fi/thriller/fantasy shows I have watched and I can guarantee you that every episode will leave you at a cliff hanger and begging for more. The story line is a bit complicated and runs between multiple time lines but it will grow on you. There can not be any easy synopsis for this one but in simple words the story revolves around a missing blind girl named "Prairie" who was found after seven years with a her eyesight back and with different name (OA). How this happened and why she changed her identity ? Well you have to watch the show for it. The series is critically acclaimed with the lead actress Brit Marling giving a stellar performance. Watch it if you liked "Stranger Things".

Seasons - 2

Episodes per Season - 8

Running Time - 31 to 71 min

Cast - Brit Marling, Emory Cohen, Scott Wilson and Phyllis Smith

8. Sense 8

This is probably one of my most favorite shows and I'm still mad why they canceled it. Sense 8 comes from the director of the film series "Matrix" and trust me this show is no less. It has such a unique story of 8 strangers from different parts of the world connected together mentally and emotionally, and are called as "sensates". It has an amazing rating of 8.3 on IMDb and was praised by the critics and media alike for it's multicultural and multiracial ensemble cast and it's portrayal of the LGBTQ community.

Seasons - 2

Episodes per Season - 12

Running Time - 67 to 70 min

Cast - Aml Ameen, Doona Bae, Jamie Clayton, Tina Desai and Tuppence Middleton

7. Elite

So now time for some "Guilty Pleasure" as they say, Elite is not your typical teen high school drama but it's a lot more than that. This Spanish series has become immensely popular all around the world and also praised by the critics for it's portrayal of mature themes and issues such as sexuality, HIV and LGBTQ. The entire cast is too good looking and talented which makes it easier to watch (LOL). The story is gripping with a mystery element which will keep you hooked up episode by episode and there's a good news, Netflix has renewed the show for it's fourth and fifth season as well.

Seasons - 3 (till now)

Episodes per Season - 8

Running Time - 47 to 56 min

Cast - María Pedraza, Itzan Escamilla, Miguel Bernardea, Ester Expósito and Danna Paola

6. Freud

This German show is a bit dark and twisted but I personally enjoyed it a lot. "Freud" is a story about a young psychoanalyst, Sigmund Freud who lives in Vienna in 1880s and helps solve local murder mysteries with a help of an Austrian girl named, Fleur, who happens to be a medium or a seer. This show may not be as popular or critically acclaimed as others in the list but do give it a shot if you like dark thrillers with an edgy direction.

Seasons - 1 (till now)

Episodes per Season - 8

Running Time - 45 to 55 min

Cast - Robert Finster, Ella Rumpf, Georg Friedrich and Stefan Konarske

5. The Good Place

Another great sit-com with a very unique story-line and probably the best one I have seen in a comedy series. This critically acclaimed series stars amazing actors such as Kristen Bell and Ted Danson. It tells a story about a woman who was accidentally sent to the Good Place (Heaven) even though she was not a good person and how things take turn when she realises that she took someone else's spot in the heaven. What happens next ? Well watch the show for it. It is filled with amazing characters such as Janet with whom you will definitely fall in love with. With a 97% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, The Good Place is a perfect show to binge watch this lockdown season.

Seasons - 4

Episodes per Season - 13 to 14

Running Time - 22 min

Cast - Kristen Bell, Jameela Jamil, D'Arcy Carden, and Ted Danson

4. Outlander

Outlander is an amazing historical/sci-fi/fantasy drama which is based on the bestseller novel series of the same name by the writer Diana Gabaldon. This series will keep you hooked on with the amazing chemistry between the onscreen couple "Claire" and "Jamie" and their adventurous life, which includes time travel, witchcraft and a lot of wars. The show has an incredible cast and also highly praised by the critics. If you are looking for a romantic period drama with a touch of fantasy then Outlander is perfect for you. They have released season one on Netflix for now but can watch all the seasons on Starz.

Seasons - 5 (till now)

Episodes per Season - 12 to 16

Running Time - 53 to 90 min

Cast - Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan

3. Tiger King

The only documentary in our list but it is no less than a soapy, juicy and thrilling television show. Tiger King has become very popular because it showcase a real life story about greed and obsession and how it destructs the life of the people in it. It's based on a real life story of Joe Exotic, a zookeeper and his obsession with big cats and his rival/arch enemy Carole Baskin, a big cat conservationist. Tiger King has become one of the most successful release of Netflix to date and still going strong even after released almost a month ago.

Seasons - 1 (Mini Series)

Episodes per Season - 7

Running Time - 41 to 48 min

2. The Witcher

The year 2019 was sad as one of the most popular shows in television history, Game of Thrones, ended but Netflix has got you covered with the brand new fantasy adventure show, The Witcher. The show is based on a very popular series of books of the same name by a Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. The show explores the legend of Geralt of Rivia and princess Ciri, who are linked by destiny to each other set in a fictional medieval world called "The Continent". It's not as gritty and dark as GOT but it will definitely quench your thirst for a good action packed fantasy adventure drama. It has a power packed star cast too with Henry Cavill playing the lead character of the Witcher.

Seasons - 1 (till now)

Episodes per Season - 8

Running Time - 47 to 67 min

Cast - Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, Eamon Farren and Anya Chalotra

1. Money Heist

Do I need to say anything about this epic show ? It is the most watched foreign language series on Netflix and one of the most series all over the world. It follows a story of 8 eight robbers, code-named after cities and led by the Professor from an external location and how they carry the heists and how their personal relationships get effected because of that. It's a brilliant master piece with an equally amazing soundtrack. You have to watch this show, you will not be disappointed.

Seasons - 2 (4 parts)

Episodes per Season - 15 to 16

Running Time - 41 to 59 min

Cast - Úrsula Corberó, Itziar Ituño, Álvaro Morte and Paco Tous
