Netflix has become a staple in American entertainment. People love to stream their shows and movies rather than watch live tv. With so many titles available, how can you possibly look through everything to find what you like? Mysteries and thrillers are a fun way to binge. Below is a list of my top 10 picks, in no order

Supernatural

Supernatural has been around since 2005, and is just ending their final season in 2020. The show focuses around two brothers who hunt monsters, eventually getting into end-of-the-world scenarios involving Heaven, Hell, and everything that comes with it. If you’re up for a show that will keep you entertained for months as you watch all 15 seasons, this is the show for you.

Lucifer

Lucifer is new on the scene. It involves the devil who took a vacation to LA and befriended a detective. They sold crimes together and try to figure out their romance. The show has mystery, action, love, and comedy. It is the perfect show for those who love mysteries, but want something more lighthearted and funny.

Dexter

Dexter is a blood spatter analyst for the police department, but he has a secret; he’s also a serial killer. The show presents both sides of this character as he works with the police while also committing murders. He learns how to cover his tracks, but gets close to getting caught multiple times.

Dark

Dark is for the sci-fi fans. A mysterious cave is actually a time travel portal that goes 33 years in either direction. A few people get caught in the wrong year, and it’s up to them to figure out how to get back home, and bring their friends home. The show is originally German, and dubbed over in English, however, it does not take away from the content.

V Wars

A sudden outbreak in cases of vampirism causes a scientist to try to figure out a cure, while attempting to maintain good relations with the vampires. This show shows both the scientific aspect of a pandemic, while also highlighting life for the new vampires in creating a new world order.

You

You follows a psychotic stalker who wants nothing more than to be with one girl, and will stop anyone who gets in his way. What starts as a crush becomes an obsession and he will do anything to be with her. Perfect for the teens and young adults.

The End of the F***ing World

This show presents two awkward adolescents as they run from home to try to find the main character's estranged father and get caught up in some trouble. The boy believes he is a psychopath and finds comfort in the girl’s weird ways. The show is awkwardly funny, with humor that relates more so to Gen Z.

Stranger Things

Another great show for sci-fi fans. A group of young boys find their friend missing, and as they search for him, they uncover major secrets about the government and another world. Although the show features kids, it is a great show for people of any age.

The Society

After returning home from a field trip, a group of students find their town empty, with no way to get out. They now must create a new society and govern themselves as they try to determine what happened to them and how to get back to reality. This show is suited for teenagers.

Black Mirror

Each episode of Black Mirror is independent, as in none of the episodes are related to each other. They all involve a different, futuristic world. The show is very dark in nature, showing when things go wrong. There are so many different worlds through each episode, there’s a guarantee to find one to enjoy.
