Yip yip! More Appa? More Uncle Iroh? More Kyoshi, please and thank you! ViacomCBS announced the creation of Nickelodeon Avatar Studios! I have been an avid fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender since I watched it with my younger brother when we were kids. My fascination with the Four Nations is alive again in finding that my eight-year-old daughter, who has previously rejected all things nerdy and divine, fell in love with the original animated show. It has become not only a shared interest but also a bonding experience. Her love of water-bending, however, has our bathroom a straight-up mess. The flooded tile is the only thing I would change about the new enthusiasm for Avatar inside my house, though. We have watched all of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra several times.

Avatar Studios: Important Details

Imagine our excitement when Avatar Studios was announced this past week, promising to bring us more of the world we love so much! According to ScreenRant,

"Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, co-creators and executive producers of the original Avatar: The Last Airbender series, will lead Avatar Studios together as co-chief creative officers."

This creative dream team's presence is a significant relief to fans. Both were executive producers on M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender, which was a bit of a letdown as far as this fan is concerned. But according to Entertainment Weekly, both DiMartino and Konietzko announced in August of 2020 that they were no longer going to be involved in the production of Netflix's planned live-action series of Avatar: The Last Airbender. It is unclear whether the Netflix live-action series will still be released with the news of Avatar Studios' launch.

Will We See More Of Korra And Her Friends?

Avatar Studios: Dreams To Reality

The possibilities seem endless for what kinds of projects could become a reality within the Avatar world. Fan theories, ideas, wishes, and deepest desires are running rampant. After all, for the longest time, these were only allowed to be daydreams. Now there is an actual possibility that fans' every wildest dream could come true!

CinemaBlend recently listed some of my favorite ideas. One of these ideas being a show about the Order of the White Lotus. CinemaBlend describes the Order of the White Lotus for new fans as

"a secret society that primarily seeks out the next Avatar in the cycle but also works to maintain order and bring about peace throughout the land. They communicate through the fictitious (board) game, Pai Sho, and even work within different nations that may be warring with each other."

Another idea that I have personally heard from fans in the real world would be tv series based on Uncle Iroh or Avatar Kyoshi's backstories.

Avatar Studios Will Stream On The New Paramount Plus Service

Avatar Studios: Streaming Details

The only potential drawback for the Avatar Studios' launch is that the creations will air on Nickelodeon for television subscribers and yet another monthly subscription streaming service for us cord-cutters. Avatar Studios' streaming destination will be CBS's upcoming Paramount+ service. On March 4, 2021, CBS All Access will become Paramount+. According to CNN Business, Paramount+ will have two subscription packages. The option to subscribe with ads will be $4.99 per month and available in June, while the $9.99 ad-free option will be available on March 4, 2021.

The Avatar fanbase is so passionate that I don't believe they will have a problem signing up for another subscription service. Still, it is worth an eye-roll or two to add a new monthly payment to access this long dreamed of content.

How do you feel about paying for another subscription to be able to access Avatar Studios? What do you wish more than anything to see in the future for the Avatar world?
