Abhilash is no longer simply an aspirant trying to crack an examination. He is now part of the system he once dreamed of changing. Guri, SK, Dhairya, Deepa and Sandeep Bhaiya have also moved forward, but old friendships are under pressure from careers, power, responsibility and difficult choices.

At the centre of Season 3 are three major conflicts: the inquiry against Abhilash, his rivalry with Pawan Kumar over the Education Town project, and his increasingly complicated relationship with Sandeep Bhaiya.

And just when it appears that Abhilash has finally understood where he went wrong, the finale delivers the season's biggest shock.

Aspirants Season 3 Story Explained

The season opens with two armed men waiting for a car. When the vehicle arrives, they stop it and point their guns at the person inside. His identity is initially hidden, making the opening scene a mystery that only becomes clear in the finale.

The story then moves between the past and the present.

In the earlier timeline, Abhilash has already become an IRS officer but still has one UPSC attempt remaining. Although he initially does not want to try again, people around him repeatedly encourage him to aim for the IAS.

Radha Ma'am especially believes he should not allow his journey to stop before discovering how far he could go.

Deepa is also still preparing, while her relationship with Abhilash slowly develops.

Eventually, Abhilash decides to use his final attempt.

Abhilash and Deepa's Relationship

In the present timeline, Abhilash has become a District Magistrate while Deepa is an SP.

Their friendship has turned into love, and both are thinking seriously about marriage. However, Abhilash's professional problems begin affecting their personal future as well.

An inquiry has been launched against him over allegations connected with a government tender involving Guri's company.

As the controversy becomes public, even Deepa's family begins questioning whether Abhilash is the right person for her.

Deepa, however, continues to support him.

Their relationship becomes one of the emotional anchors of the season, showing how the pressures of public service can enter even the most private parts of a person's life.

Why Is Abhilash Under Investigation?

One of the biggest storylines of Aspirants Season 3 revolves around a tender received by Guri's company.

Pawan argues that the project should especially benefit students coming from government and Hindi-medium schools.

What Happens Between Abhilash, Guri and SK?

Season 3 also repairs one of the show's most important relationships: the Tripod.

SK has been carrying resentment toward Abhilash for years.

Sandeep Ohlan has been shot.

Who Killed Sandeep Bhaiya in Aspirants Season 3?

The finale connects back to the mysterious opening scene.

The two armed men shown waiting for a car at the beginning of the season were targeting Sandeep Bhaiya.

They stop his vehicle and shoot him.

However, the finale does not fully reveal the individual masterminds behind the attack.

The investigation that follows points toward a much larger criminal conflict, with authorities preparing action against the sand-mafia network.

So the more accurate answer is:

Sandeep Bhaiya is killed by the gunmen introduced at the beginning of the season, but the complete conspiracy behind his murder remains unresolved.

Why Does Abhilash Return to Rampur?

Sandeep's death changes everything.

Senior officials decide that his murder cannot be treated like an ordinary case.

A special team is prepared to take on the criminal network connected with the situation, and Abhilash is chosen to lead the operation.

He is asked whether he is ready to return as the DM of Rampur.

Abhilash accepts.

His career has effectively come full circle.

The biggest theme of Aspirants Season 3 is that clearing UPSC was never the final examination.

Becoming an officer was only the beginning.

Can he admit his own mistakes?

Can he protect friendships without compromising his responsibilities?
