Are Jayce and Viktor Dead?

This is Arcane's biggest mystery from the finale.

Even though the creators of Arcane revealed that Jayce and Viktor died in the season 2 finale, it still makes me wonder if the duo is somehow still alive. Only Viktor was supposed to die, but even after everything he had done with the Hexcore, Jayce still wanted to stay by his side. Both men died together, their bodies fading away along with the Hexcore.

Or are they somehow still alive?

The reason why I believe both men are still kicking, is because of one crazy reveal in the season 2 finale. Jayce and his mother had been rescued by a mystery man that used magic to save them, sparking Jayce's interest in wanting to mix magic and science together to create Arcane years later. The mystery man was eventually revealed to be Viktor, who had been traveling throughout so many different timelines to prevent the ending of the world, that would unfortunately be committed by his own hands.

In every timeline, it always ends the same way, with Viktor winning, and he even takes Jayce with him, right in their final moments together.

What if Viktor and Jayce are still alive, because they aren't meant to be dead?

What if they ended in another timeline, the two of them alive, wandering a different plane of existence?

It would still be a pretty messed up fate for them regardless, because it would still be considered a proper punishment for the duo, after everything they have done to the Undercity and the Uppercity. These two are responsible for the end of the world in every single timeline, all because they were determined to change the world for the better through technology and magic.

They even caused more damage along the way, turning so many people against each other, including destroying a family that becomes the main part of the storyline. Vi and Powder were once part of a loving family along with their two brothers and their father, and due to Jayce's technology, their family was destroyed, and the two sisters ended up joining separate sides of good and evil.

Getting send to another timeline is definitely a fitting punishment for Jayce and Viktor. In a way, they would be getting a taste of their own medicine, dooming themselves instead of the entire world.

Another reason why I'm hoping that they are still alive, is because out of all of the characters, these two are the only ones that I would love to see make a possible return.

Jayce and Viktor were hands down the most interesting duo in the entire show of Arcane. It was so fascinating to watch the downfall of two men that became the main villains of the show, and watching their destruction enfold upon the world and the other main cast was so insane. They are the only ones I would love to see a spinoff for in the near future, if the creators of Arcane were to suddenly create an extra story for these two characters.

Jayce and Viktor's storylines could go in any direction, and I guarantee that fans would love to go back to the Arcane universe, checking out the brand-new storyline of our two favorite scientists that almost destroyed the world.

However, I understand if the creators were to keep Jayce and Viktor dead.

Not every single show needs a spinoff, and yes, these types of shows can become tedious with the stupid spinoff trope of Hollywood.

But for such interesting characters like this, this would definitely be one of the few exceptions.

We may never get a spinoff for these two amazing characters, but at least we were given a memorable journey for Jayce and Viktor.
