Anil Kapoor is considered as one of the top ten actors in the Bollywood. The 55 year old actor still looks younger than his age and rocks the screen whenever he makes an appearance on the screen

He has definitely created his niche in the Bollywood for many years. Born on 24th December 1959, in Chembur, Mumbai, Anil's family was a very decent family who used to live in a colony in Chembur. His father Surinder Kapoor was a producer and his mother's name was Nirmal. He is a younger brother of producer Boney Kapoor and elder brother of actor Sanjay Kapoor. Famous actress Sridevi is his sister in law. Anil is married to Sunita Bhambhani who is a fitness expert. The couple has two daughters Sonam Kapoor , Rhea and one son named Harshavardhan. Sonam is also a successful actress in the Bollywood. She acted in the films like 'Delhi 6','I hate Luv Storys' etc.

In a childhood Anil didn't have many friends. He was a very shy and reserved kind of boy. He studied in OLPC (Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School) in Chembur. Then he took a degree from St. Xavier's college in Mumbai. Anil was a die hard fan of showman Raj Kapoor's movies. The talented actor made his debut through the film 'Hamare Tumhare' by Umesh Mehra in the year 1979. But he appeared in the lead role for the first time in the film 'Woh Saat Din' in 1983 which had Naseeruddin Shah and Padmini Kolhapure. He proved his mettle in acting through Yash Chopra's film 'Mashaal' which had a huge star cast. His fabulous performance in this film brought him his first Filmfare award. After that, the gifted actor didn't look back. He has delivered lots of blockbusters in his career like 'Meri Jung' ,'Tezaab', 'Karma', 'Mr. India', 'Parinda' and 'Ram Lakhan' .He has won the Filfare award for the best actor for his film Tezaab which had Madhuri Dixit opposite him.

In 1990s he has delivered some successful films like 'Ghar Ho To Aisa','Kishan Kanhaiya','Awaargi', 'Lamhe','Beta' etc. He was nominated for the Filmfare's award for the best actor for the film 'Lamhe' and got the same award for the brilliant performance in the film 'Beta' which was a super hit movie. He was paired opposite Sridevi in 'Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja'. This movie could not do well at the box office. The pair was repeated for many times in the films like 'Laadla' and 'Judaai'. Both the films worked at the box office. His performance in the films like 'Virasat' and 'Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain' got him lots of appreciation.

Later Anil was seen in the films like 'Bulandi' and 'Pukar'. He has won the national award for 'Pukaar'. He was paired opposite Aishwarya Rai in 'Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai'. This movie got a critical and commercial success. He has given a marvelous performance in the film 'Nayak'in 2001 . The movie got lots of critical accolades. His some noteworthy films are 'Saaheb', 'Karma', 'Eeshwar', 'Kishan Kanhaiya', 'Jamai Raja' ,'Benaam Badshah' ,'Beta', 'Loafer' etc. He did supporting roles in the films like 'Mann','Taal','Biwi No.1','Lajja','Tashan' and 'Yuvraaj' etc and got appreciation from everybody.

For a few years, Anil was seen doing many multi starer films like 'Welcome','Race','No Entry' etc. He was seen doing a key role in Oscar winning Hollywood movie 'Slumdog Millionaire' and another Hollywood flick 'Mission Impossible -Ghost Protocol' . He was recently seen in 'Tezz' and 'Race 2'.

His upcoming film is multi starer 'Shootout At Wadala' with John Abraham, Tusshar Kapoor and Manoj Bajpai. He will be seen in 'No Entry Mein Entry' ,'Mr. India 2','One Way Ticket' ,'Power' and 'Cities ' (English) .Anil Kapoor was born in a Punjabi family of producers and was brought up in Chembur, Mumbai. During his initial days he lived in Raj kapoor’s Garage but after some time he shifted to chawl in Mumbai. His father was a successful film producer who worked as Shammi Kapoor’s Secretary.
