Amnesia, no: Anemoia for White Lotus Resort Hotels

Anemoia is considered an "obscure sorrow" that is longing to be somewhere you cannot ever go. It is like having a memory, but instead of one you can't remember like of the similar work amnesia, it is one that is created or can't happen.

I imagine myself there because I would enjoy the places the characters are at more than they would and I would do a little bit of intervention to stop the spiral of issues that happen each season. A complaint about staff accidentally leads to one of them dying. An obsession with revenge instead of focusing on a loved one in front of them leading them to lose the loved one. Seeing the unwell intentions of the people who wanted to push someone off a boat. The friends who lose one another because they can't stop flirting with their love interest.

I am excited there is a new season happening in France because I am always interested in where the writing will take us next. The show is also unique in that they have a new cast every season to represent new stays with only a few they keep or bring back in order to wrap up their story line. All of her character's issues can be avoided if they cared a bit more. The show lets us see how selfish actions, impulses, or not properly doing a job cause series of issues that spill out onto other people. Actions that seem so small but yet could cause damage and interference in other people's lives the Hotel vacation staying upper class does not want to think about or bother with while also complaining at a beach that looks magnificent or or gorgeous foliage and poolside.

This happens in real life, which is what the show captures brilliantly in these moments. A series of many people not caring. Someone doesn't take over an item somewhere properly and it is out to the wrong place. The people who should be taking care of lost items don't look at where it is. Someone like me comes along and picks up the sitting item finally taking it to the office. The people who get paid to deliver an item did not do the job properly and the people who get paid to make sure an office runs well and look to keep track don't do their job either. Someone else who isn't even on the payroll fixes the issue.

My life has been like this where I see issues to point out or do thankless jobs with the extra effort put in that others who actually get paid for their time to perform the job properly are supposed to do. What happens when you insert someone like this among the crowd. A person actually picking up the selfish pieces, finding items left thrown about, and pointing out what should have been know before it is too late. One person very different from the rest could make quite a difference that I would like to be able to see or test in situations like this.

One of these hotel goer's actions being less selfish, more caring, and more courteous than the rest among them. Balenda in the Thailand season was a bit like that and because she is the only one who paid attention to and kept saying anything about who Greg actually is, she ended up with his money in the end. He would have just continued on as before without this interference. Her actually caring to know what happened to Tanya even though she did her wrong was the one offset within the rest, making the story with Greg wrap up differently than what it may have been without her.
