All-Star Fan Casting: 'Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers'

Lionsgate has entered the casting process of their Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers reboot. Names like Liam Hemsworth, Taylor Lautner, and Chloe Grace-Mortez have been rumored. But I have a list of 6 actors I believe will not only give us some of the best up and coming talents, but a very diverse cast.

Red Ranger / Donald Glover

If Spider-Man is not in Glover's future, then how about the leader of the Power Rangers? Donald Glover is a talented actor with great range. He has the talent to come in and lead a team, while also show the hardships of discovering these new gifts that he and his friend's were given.

Pink Ranger / Malese Jow

Best known for her role as Anna in The Vampire Diaries and most recently playing Linda Park in The Flash. She has made her rounds on television and is primed for a breakout performance in film. She easily portrays a very strong and confident woman, traits needed to spearhead this new, more gritty Power Rangers reboot.

Black Ranger / Christopher Mintz-Plasse

Mintz-Plasse is often type casted into very nerdy roles, and it would probably be the case here as well. But he also possesses a wider acting range then given credit for. His performances in Tag, Kick-Ass 1&2, and the Alison Wonderland video U Don't Know show off that he actually is more talented than given credit for. Taking over the original Blue Ranger's role as the nerd of the group. I chose to switch the nerd role to the Black Ranger for more politically correct reasons that you will see in my pick for the Blue Ranger.

Blue Ranger / Tyler James Williams

Now you see why I switched up the character roles a bit. For the same reasons I did not make Malese Jow the Yellow Ranger, I did not want to make Tyler James Williams the Black Ranger. As I stated above, the role of the nerdy ranger will go to the Black Ranger. TJW's acting ability has recently came to light in his portrayal of Noah on The Walking Dead. His dramatic acting skills will be put to the test, but I believe he is up to it.

Yellow Ranger / Shailene Woodley

Woodley is one of the most talented actresses in the world. From Fault in Our Stars, The Spectacular Now, and Divergent. She has shown she can do it all. She deserves the role just based on pure acting ability alone.

Green Ranger–White Ranger / Dylan O'Brien

Capable of playing the evil Green Ranger turned good, or the true leader of the Power Rangers, the White Ranger. His acting range is limitless. Whichever ranger Lionsgate chooses to use, or if they go with the original storyline and use both, Dylan O'Brien is perfect for either.
