I have been a fan of the TV show BONES for the majority of my life. Here's a bit about the show and maybe it'll pique your interest in the show as well.

Bones is a very popular television show that, as of now, has been running on Channel Five for ten seasons. The viewers seem to love everything about the show, as the average rating for Bones on tv.com is a 9.0 of 10 (TV.com). The show is about a forensic anthropologist, Dr. Brennan, nicknamed Bones, who works with the Jeffersonian Corporation in Washington, D.C. With the help of her team, she solves every case. The main people on her team are Seeley Booth, an FBI special agent; Jack Hodgins, an entomologist; Lance Sweets, a psychologist; Angela Montenegro, a forensic artist; and Cam Saroyan, the head of the Forensic Division. Tons of fans around the country are engrossed in the interesting episodes. The popularity of the show Bones is due to many things including the depth of the characters, the scientific facts, the ways you can watch it, the humor, drama, and many other factors.

During the season, new episodes would come on every Thursday at 8 on FOX 5. The shows are usually an hour. They are interesting and the hour goes quickly. People can find Bones reruns at different times on many other channels, including My 9 TV and TNT. If viewers are on the run, the show is also available on the internet. You can find it on Netflix and the FOX 5 website. In this day and age, with all of these online places to watch Bones and other tv shows, fans can watch it any time and not miss a thing(Locatetv).

Bones is a fascinating show with different themes that can pique the interest of many different types of people. The themes included in the show are romance, fictional crime, comedy, drama, and mystery. All of these different aspects of Bones help the show contain a little bit of everything so that it is enjoyable for a wide audience.

The characters are one of the best aspects of the show. The whole time the show has aired more and more information about the characters is added. Viewers feel like they know the characters inside and out. The most liked character is said to be Seeley Booth (“Best Bones”). Seeley adds some comedy and normality to the show. He may not be the smartest out of the bunch, but the fans love him because they can relate to him. Seeley has many layers to his character that are not revealed at first, but if viewers have watched the show for a few seasons, they would know all that he has been through. He has characterized himself as an honorable, loyal, patriotic, and religious person. Before he joined the FBI, he worked in the military as a sniper and had some traumatic experiences. His experiences led to a gambling addiction that he struggled to overcome. Also, there is a love connection between Booth and Bones that adds a little drama to the show. In season nine, they get married and later have a baby named Christine Angela Booth (IMDb Booth).

The episodes are engaging and interesting. The scenarios make first-time viewers want to watch the entire episode to figure out who the killer is, but the show also hooks viewers with comedy that is sprinkled throughout the script. At the beginning of all the episodes, there is a scene that starts out with the discovery of a dead body. This is always interesting, and takes viewers’ minds on a trip, thinking about how the character died. Not only is the show about the crimes, but also it involves the characters’ personal lives. Even though the show includes a lot of scientific references and vocabulary, the episodes are not too overwhelming. The creators of Bones do a good job of showing what is happening in a way that is interesting but simplistic and realistic. This allows the viewers to easily understand some complicated material and plots.

While watching the show Bones, viewers will learn a lot. Viewers hear many facts embedded in the script so while watching they can learn a lot about the human body and mind. Often, as the show unfolds, viewers wonder if the facts are actually true. To answer that question, Bones has received awards in the most accurate representation of science on a tv show category. So, yes, the material, for the most part, is based on fact. Viewers will learn different things from different characters based on their area of expertise at the Jeffersonian. Booth carries street smarts, Bones has forensic smarts, Hodgens is into specimens, Sweets talks about psychology and there are many other characters fans can learn from, as well.

Humor is key to keeping the viewing audience. Sometimes you need a little comic relief especially in a show that deals with death as its main theme. The writers of Bones seem to know when comedy is needed and how to use it effectively. The writers include humor in the dialog. For example, one episode included this exchange between the main characters: ¨Bones: Why would a gang leader cooperate? Booth: I'm gonna ask him really, really nicely, Bones. Bones: You know that book I'm reading about getting along with your co-workers? It says that sarcasm is never helpful. I can lend it to you if you want.” In another episode, Bones cleverly snaps back at Booth’s comments: “Booth: You're a smart ass, you know that? Bones: Objectively, I'd say that I'm very smart, although it has nothing to do with my ass.” This clever placing of humor will drag you back into the show with a little snicker.

The show also keeps its viewing audience by having the best plot twists and finales. One storyline includes the romance between Booth and Bones. Their relationship went through many trials and tribulations. Just when they were going to get married, during seasons 7-9, their lives were threatened by a serial killer named Christopher Pelant.

Pelant interfered with Booth and Bones’ lives. The killer threatened to kill numerous people if they did not split up. After catching Pelant and killing him in season 9, they were finally free to be together (Bones Wikia) Not long after that, they got married. Also, later in the season, they have a baby. The progression in their relationship has captured the hearts of many viewers and kept them coming back.

Bones has been nominated for and has received many awards since the show started in 2005. The show has won five awards: the ASCAP Award and the BMI TV Music Award in 2009 and 2013 and the Humanitas Prize in 2013. The show was also nominated for but did not win twenty awards: two Primetime Emmys, one Image Award, five Peoples Choice Awards, one Prism Award, one Satellite Award, two Camera Operator of the Year Awards, one TV Guide Award, four Teen Choice Awards, one VES Award, and two Young Artist Awards.

With both many nominations and awards won, the writers and actors of Bones have accomplished many great things (IMDb Awards). The show is one of the top most-watched shows on FOX 5. All aspects of Bones are creative and engaging. Everyone should watch Bones at least once in their life. While watching be sure to look out for the previously mentioned aspects of the show: the science, the humor, the acting, the characters, and the interesting plot twists.
