A Very Disney+ Christmas

Christmas Movies to Watch

As the Christmas season approaches (now, it's right now!) streaming services are upping their holiday game. So we are going to take it one by one, streaming service by streaming service, the best holiday movies available to you. There will also be some recommendations of where you should start. If you happen to combine all of these lists you will have enough Christmas cheer for all of November and December. No one has more options than Disney so here we go with a very Disney+ Christmas movie list.

Starting with the obvious we’ve got all 3 Santa Clause movies. I personally love all three of them, but the third one does have Martin Short in it so that has got to be the best one. There is also the Santa Clause show that is apparently getting a second season, I have not seen it so I really can’t give any feedback on that but the movies are classic.

Actually you should kick your season off with The Nightmare Before Christmas, which is the perfect transition movie between the spooky season and the cozy season. And it is a great jumping off point before you get into the true Christmas movies.

Next we’ve got Mickey’s Once (and Twice) Upon a Christmas. These are perfect because they are short and sweet. They are like cute, cozy anthology series. They feature all of your favorite original, classic Disney characters and it makes it a very sweet watch. These are definitely comfort movies for me come the holiday season.

If we love the original Disney characters then there are lots of shorter specials to be watched on Disney+. Ranging from 10 minutes to just under 30 Mickey, Minnie and friends have many appearances perfect for younger viewers. On the newer side we’ve got Mickey Saves Christmas, Mickey and Minnie Wish Upon a Christmas, and Wonderful Winter Mickey Mouse. And if you are in the mood for some nostalgia we’ve got Mickey’s Christmas Carol. That short is also included in Snowed in the House of Mouse though that one hasn’t quite made it to Disney+ yet, you can still find it in various corners of the internet.

For some newer, original Christmas movies we’ve got Noelle and The Christmas Consultant. Noelle stars Anna Kendrick and The Christmas Consultant stars David Hasselhoff. Both movies are very Disney meets Hallmark and are a perfectly delightful addition to any Christmas watch list.

If you are simply looking for some holiday cheer but don’t really feel like following any sort of narrative Disney+ also has a holiday special on how the parks decorate for Christmas. Decorating Disney is one of my favorite ways to get the holiday season started and it is the perfect thing to watch while I decorate for Christmas Time.

If you are less into classic Disney and more into Disney properties then we have the Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special. Short and sweet you can watch our favorite superhero team experience the holiday cheer the only way that they can.

And last but not least the cutest and coziest Disney+ property of them all, A Very Merry Pooh Year. Winnie the Pooh and friends get their own special and it is my favorite thing to rewatch every year.

Disney probably does have the best options for Christmas movies but to be honest, every streaming service has its strengths in that department. And there are new things being released all of the time. Even with the strike this year, most Christmas movies and shows would have been finished in the summer and therefore we should still be getting some new Christmas content.
