The hit American telenovela Jane The Virgin had its season finale on May 16, and I'm only beginning to get hooked on the show. The telenovela had its Philippine premiere last March 28 on ABS-CBN network.

Now if you can recall, the story focused around the life of Jane Gloriana Villanueva, a graduating college student who got mistakenly artificially inseminated by Rafael Solano's drunkard sister - Luisa Alver. It took off from there, and as you would guess, Jane's (probably planned) life took a detour when she broke up with her fiance, and got into a relationship with Rafael.

Anyway, I digress, I'm absolutely loving this show thus far. If you're not watching it right now, you should absolutely catch up, and below are 7 reasons why I guarantee that you will love it as much as I do.

1. Jane Is A Relatable Character

Jane, to be honest, looks like an average girl. She isn't too pretty or dangerously attractive. However, she's intelligent and quite charming. She's sort of like a girl-next-door, a loyal friend, add to her smarts, she's also super competitive. Jane has qualities that all of us regular folks have. She's not your typical leading lady, which makes her seem so close to us.

2. Handsome Dudes

They're not just Michael and Rafael; even the ladies of Jane The Virgin are gorgeous. However, for the sake of this post, let's just limit it to the two fabulous dreamboats whom Jane dated (and fell in love with). The former was her fiance, and the latter is the biological father of her firstborn.

Even though I'm on #TeamMichael all the way, as the show progresses, I can see why Jane fell for Rafael too. Setting aside the fact that for the most of season one, Rafael had no backbone.

I have to commend the writers of the show for The Narrator, if not for everything else. He gives side remarks that sometimes could ruin touching moments, or give hope to an almost hopeless situation. It blends in seamlessly with everything; it's as if the narrator is the voice inside everyone's heads telling them what to or not to do.

4. No Dull Moments

If there were, the narrator would surely acknowledge it, and it would be dull no more.

5. Britney Spears!

The dubbed version I stay up late every night for has only gotten this far, and Britney gave me the motivation to watch even under the circumstances of heavy rain, thunder and lightning. 'Cause it's Britney, b*tch!

6. Awesome Guest Stars

From Rita Moreno, Kesha, Britney Spears, and Bruno Mars - this show never runs out of talented guest stars, and I might have even missed a few of them!

7. It's Unpredictable!

The possibilities are endless in Jane The Virgin. It's simply complex, if you get me. Like many telenovelas, cliff-hangers are subject to bizarre theories (which, in telenovela cliche, can totally happen), and each episode will leave you on the edge of your seat anticipating what the next episode could bring.

SPOILER ALERT Let's admit it, did you ever see the season one's big reveal coming? That Luisa's ex-girlfriend and stepmother turned out to be the international criminal Sin Ros(e)tro? That Rafael had another brother, Petra has a twin sister, or after so many detours the endgame would be with Michael?

SPOILER ALERT

Jane The Virgin is funny, sexy, and sometimes heartwarming. The light-heartedness of the show is a guarantee that you will absolutely love it when you begin to watch it. It's a perfect antidote to all the daily blahs of life, and with this show, you will learn how to be patient, take one step at a time, and hope that everything will all fall into place in the end.
