Podcasts offer community when we are limited in our ability to connect, which is especially important during the Covid-19 crisis. From astrology to social justice, these thoughtful and deeply inspiring podcasts will offer juicy and insightful content to your day. We may have already been in quarantine for what feels like 239797845 days, but you’ll be able to fill at least another week with these podcasts created by and featuring inspiring women working to uplevel our collective consciousness. Hopefully these pods provide some comfort and edu-tainment that we are all craving during this wild quarantined time.

1. Almost 30: I found this podcast when I actually was ~almost 30~, in fact I was 27 and had just experienced the worst break up of my life. Much like Krista and Lindsey, the hosts of the pod, I was about to transition from my 20s, didn’t know what my life was going to look like, and was just starting out on my personal development journey. Now, both the hosts and I are in our 30s, but the show remains relevant and they show no signs of quitting any time soon. It’s a two eps per week podcast that dives deep into health, entrepreneurship, spirituality, and more. Some of my favorite episodes are solo shows from one of the hosts and anything related to human design or astrology. There are hundreds of episodes and an active community on Instagram and social media to connect with.

2. Beyond Belief: This is a new favorite that just launched April 2020 and is the newest project from a woman who has been endlessly inspiring to me in the last few years -- Jericho Mandybur. This is a self-proclaimed in-depth look at society’s weirdos and what they believe from feminist satanists to dolphin whisperers. During quarantine, Friday has become Beyond Belief Day since days of the week don’t really matter anymore.

3. Ghost of a Podcast: This is another twice weekly pod (I cherish them during quarantine), but this one is from the queer astrologer/social justice icon, Jessica Lanyadoo. I am a fan of Lanyadoo’s brand of astrology that centers on personal development, wellness, and equality. She offers wisdom, guidance, and breaks down astrology into easy to digest bites even when presented with challenging times.

4. Irresistible (fka Healing Justice): This pod is new to me, but it’s already a favorite. Social justice organizing has suddenly become much more challenging and more important as a result of the pandemic. This podcast offers insight as well as resources for enacting change, holding space, and coming together as a collective to ensure we all build resilience together. This pod is a “virtual practice space at the intersection of collective healing & social change.”

5. Jen Gotch is Okay Sometimes: The next few podcasts are either complete (no new episodes) or on hiatus. That being said, they are all well-done and still highly relevant. I am a big fan of Jen Gotch, she is one of my expanders (listen to this ep of Almost 30 to learn about expanders). She’s open about her struggles with mental health (she’s diagnosed bipolar), she has a wildly successful business, an eye for color, and is super fun on Instagram. This podcast actually helped inspire her new book (which I haven’t gotten my hands on just yet). This whole podcast is worth a binge. Jen will make you laugh, is highly relatable, and sparks so much joy.

6. No Man’s Land: Have you ever noticed there are maybe 10 women in all of history that we learn about in school? The Wing did, which is what inspired this rad look into historical women who shaped our world, but don’t get much credit for it. This pod has also run its course (no new eps since 2018), but is well worth your time. It is well-researched, deeply interesting, and will probably make you a little mad that you didn’t learn about these women earlier.

7. Self Service with Jericho Mandybur: This podcast was my “how-to” guide for practicing self-care as a novice at 27 (yikes). I'd spent over a quarter of a century not knowing how to take care of myself or love myself, but listening to Jericho Mandybur (yup, this was her first pod before moving onto Beyond Belief) every week provided practices to integrate into my life and the space to learn how to take care of me. This pod also features a weekly check-in with astrologer Jessica Lanyadoo pre-Ghost of a Podcast. While some of the astrology-specific details might be outdated 2 years later (this pod also aired its last episode late in 2018), the “cosmic comfort zone” is still relevant to our quarantined times.
