We are left with not many activities to do while stuck inside- good thing your best friend Netflix is here to help out! Here is a list of my top 5 shows to binge during Quarantine.

1) Gossip Girl (Netflix) (2007-2012)

Take a break from our exhausting circumstances, and dive into the rich, luxurious world of Gossip Girl. The wildly popular show which premiered 14 years ago, follows the lives of five high school students (Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Chace Crawford, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick) attending a prestigious, Upper East Side school, and the blogger/stalker who traces every move they make. This show is so iconic in so many ways- the fashion, glamour, drama, and Blair Waldorf one liners that will make you rethink your entire life. GG is the ultimate guilty pleasure show- the teen soap draws you in until you realize you’ve finished all 6 seasons within a day. Not that it would be a problem- a reboot of the beloved series is planned to air on HBO Max, sometime in 2021.

2) American Horror Story (Netflix) (2011-present)

It’s hard to believe a show this dark was produced by the co-creators of Glee, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. American Horror Story is a show like no other, with its totally berserk plot twists and amazing camera work. This series is also unique because of the way the storyline changes every season but the actors stay the same, which gives it a really cool effect. AHS has the perfect mix of horror and humor, which makes it impossible to take your eyes off the screen. You’ll find yourself clicking through each 40 minute episode nonstop, dying to know what comes next. Catch up on the 9 released seasons on Netflix before Season 10 comes out in 2021.

3) Criminal Minds (Netflix) (2005-2020)

If you love true crime, this show is for you. The first episode of Criminal Minds aired 16 years ago, and the last aired in February of last year. The series follows the lives of BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit) agents at the FBI, and the crimes they face everyday at work. This suspenseful watch will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end of each 42 minute episode. Another bonus is that each episode focuses on a different mystery, so you can take a break from the intensity of the show without missing anything.

4) The Vampire Diaries (Netflix) (2009-2017)

Julie Plec’s The Vampire Diaries holds the perfect balance of romance, horror, and drama. The 8 season show is based off of the well known Vampire Diaries book series, written by L.J. Smith. The plot centers around teenager Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), who finds herself torn between two -smoking hot- vampire brothers, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder). This isn’t your average love triangle though, at least not with witches, werewolves, and vampires thrown in the mix. This show is the perfect binge for you, if you’re looking for something that will make you laugh and cry at the same time. An added plus is the bomb soundtrack. And, if you can’t get enough of that, there are two spinoffs, both just as heartwarming as the original- The Originals, and Legacies.

5) The Great British Baking Show (Netflix) (2010-present)

Take a break from all the stress in your life and binge The Great British Baking Show! There’s something so satisfying about watching people cook up mouth watering treats on screen. This show is a contest to find Britain’s best home baker, judged by no other than celebrity chef Paul Hollywood. The Great British Baking Show currently has 11 seasons, and the 12th is set to air sometime around August, 2021. You can stream all 129 episodes of this tasty binge on Netflix.

Happy binging!
