Politicians are some of the richest, most powerful, and most recognizable people in any country. In Nigeria, that is of course no exception. A lot of politician's children are also expected to follow in the family business and pursue a career in politics. However, this does not always happen.

For the children of the Nigerian politicians on today's list, they abandoned politics completely and jumped into one of the most highly sought after jobs in the world because of its promise of fame and money: acting. Some have become quite popular actors while others have not.

Without further ado, here are 5 Nigerian Politicians Whose Children Are Into Acting.

1. Peter Obi

Peter Obi is a Nigerian politician who has previously served as the executive governor of Anambra State, was PDP's vice presidential candidate in the 2019 Nigerian general election and is currently the Labor Party's flag bearer for the 2023 Nigerian presidential election. Peter Obi is one of the most famous politicians in the country today but what many may not know as this his son, Gregory is also trying to become a household name of his own.

Gregory Oseloka Obi is an actor and producer who studied Philosophy in Bristol University before pursuing a career in acting. He acted in the 2019 American drama film, His Assistance, and also appeared in the HBO show Avenue 5.

2. Senator Anthony Adefuye

Nigerian senator Anthony Adefuye is a third republic senator who was one of those who fought against the military junta of Sani Abacha. He is currently a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress and a close associate of the party's leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Many may not know this but Senator Anthony Adefuye has a daughter who is very prominent in the Nigerian movie industry. Senator Adefuye's daughter is none other than the beautiful and talented Toni Tones.

Toni Tones is an actress best known for portraying the role of younger Eniola Salami in the King of Boys franchise. She has also acted in productions like The Smart Money Woman, Your Excellency, It's Her Day, and more.

3. Admiral Augustus Akhabue Aikhomu

Augustus Akhabue Aikhomu was an admiral in the Nigerian Navy and a politician who served as the de facto Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the military administration of General Ibrahim Babangida from 1986 to 1993. Until his death in 2011, he was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the All Nigeria Peoples Party. What many may not know is that Admiral Aikhomu's biracial son which he had with his foreign wife, Shirley Anne Holden, is actually now an actor who goes by the name Mark Holden.

Mark has starred in movies including The Infiltrator, World War Z, The Double Deal, and more.

4. Amina J. Mohammed

Amina Jane Mohammed is a British-Nigerian diplomat and politician who is currently serving as the fifth Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and was previously the Nigerian Minister of Environment from 2015 to 2016. What many may not know is that Amina J. Mohammed has a daughter who is currently active in the Nigerian movie industry. That daughter is actress and producer Nadine Ibrahim.

Nadine Ibrahim is a Nigerian actress who has starred in films including Hakkunde, Tolu, I Am Not Corrupt, and Through Her Eyes.

5. Joy Emodi

Joy Emodi is a Nigeiran politician who was elected senator for the Anambra North constituency of Anambra State, Nigeria, taking office on 20 February 2005 after the election of Emmanuel Anosike was annulled. She was re-elected in 2007, but her second election was appealed by Alphonsus Obi Igbeke of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) candidate and after protracted hearings, Igbeke was declared the winner on 25 March 2010, and her second election was annulled. Despite all that, what many may not know is that Joy Emodi has a son who is quite popular in Nollywood. Joy's son is none other than Nollywood actor Ray Emodi.

Ray Emodi is popular for his myriad of ROK TV productions and Youtube films. Some of his movies include Heaven On My Mind, A Daughter's Dilemma, Unfinished Business, and more.
