"The God of Thunder" (Hemsworth) is on a journey unlike anything he's faced in the past: a search for inner peace. But his retreat is interrupted by a galactic assassin known as Gorr, The God Butcher (Christian Bale), whose mission is the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who, to Thor's surprise, inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together they embark on a terrifying cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the Butcher of Gods' vengeance and stop him before it's too late", the synopsis previews.

And five years after the release of Thor: Ragnarok, the new facet of Odin's son can be understood from five key clues and the reasons why fans are so eager.

1- Thor is the first character to headline four franchise films, with Thor (2011), Thor: A Dark World (2013), Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). "I felt enormous pressure. For now, Thor is the only character to lead a fourth film, and I wanted to do something different. I always want to do my best effort for the character," revealed Hemsworth, who brought freshness and charisma to the figure of the God of Thunder.

2- The new movie takes place after the events of Avengers: End Game, when some cracks appeared in Thor's armor, which seemed indestructible. And this detail, adds to a long personal transformation that the character has gone through, who began as an arrogant and impulsive prince banished from Asgard by his father Odin, and then reached a point where he lost his way. "He still doesn't really know who he is or what his place in the universe is. And he decides that he needs to search and take some time for himself", said the protagonist, as a starting point for a new adventure in which adrenaline will not be lacking.

3- Love will have a preponderant place, with Natalie Portman as Jane, the woman who broke Thor's heart. Producer Brad Winderbaum said the following:

"Most people who are trying to find themselves are running from something. What Thor is running from is love because, in his experience, everyone he loves, dies. Whether he can express it or not, he believes he is cursed."

4- Although Thor has faced many enemies throughout his life, this time he will have as his rival Gorr, a villain without equal. "We needed to go a step further from Hela and find a villain who was even more imposing, and we found him in Gorr, played by the remarkable Christian Bale", explained the director.

5- Finally, the hero's inner change becomes his worst battle, with which he will end up showing a different profile from what has been seen before. "Thor: Love and Thunder is similar to Thor: Ragnarok in terms of tone and style, but we wanted to duplicate the vibrant and crazy worlds and situations we put Thor in. When you're dealing with a Viking in outer space, if you run and embrace that incredible combination as the one that drives the story, you're only really limited by your imagination", Waititi previewed.
