Despite being a fan of thrillers and nail biting shows, I and my partner prefer to watch some Netflix shows which mitigate our pumped up work stressed nerves. Netflix has a handful of titles to watch but, we are very picky. We can’t stand shows/movies which don’t keep us engaged. It’s a painstaking process to choose the right show for us. This list which I have made is our personal favorites for casual watching, so try it, who knows, it can lift your mood and improve your day. Without further ado, let’s jump on to the list with itsy-bitsy spoilers, and I am sure it won’t hurt cause it is relaxing shows.

Our Planet

Are you feeling stressed? Need a break, but can’t afford for a vacation? This show is for you. You can virtually travel to the heart of our planet and get dipped in Mother nature’s beauty. It has breathtaking visuals, and this show is educational as well. Our favorite part in this documentary show is the narrator and historian David Attenborough. We are ardent fan of his narration and voice. I bet no one else can narrate about the impact of climate change on our planet in a calm, informative way like him. His magical voice to make you sleep. Our planet has eight episodes and overall it is a feel-good and soothing show. In addition, you can watch “Our Planet, Behind the scenes” to acknowledge efforts of Our Planet’s teamwork. We love David Attenborough’s shows. In case you liked this show, you can try “A Life on Our Planet” and “Life in Color” as well.

Chef’s Table

If you are a foodie like us, or visual enticement of food triggers your joy hormone, then this show is for you. Each episode of the chef’s table tells the story of World class Michelin-starred chef. It is a show with beautiful mouth-watering shots of food and completely engrossing and inspirational stories of the chef. Beware, it may either make you hungry or make you spend hours together to watch the next episode. Chef’s table has 6 volumes. In addition, there is another series which is Chef Table’s BBQ. I strongly recommend you to watch 85-year-old Tootsie Tomanetz’s episode from Chef’s Table BBQ and stop by to her Snow’s BBQ in Lexington, Texas. She is a definition of inspiration. I loved her attitude and the way she sees life.

 The Great British Baking Show

Cooking shows are the best to calm the nerves and eventually make you fall asleep. The Great British Baking Show is the least stressful reality competition show. The cheeky commentary and pretty colors will keep you riveted. There is no yelling or backstabbing in it. The judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood give feedback on a positive note and no aggressiveness like any other food competition shows. The Great British Baking Show has amateur bakers face off in a series of elimination rounds until there’s a winner. It has eight collections and comprises decent, kind and good baking competition which will melt your stress butter.

 Zumbo’s Just Desserts

Zumbo’s Just Desserts is like The Great British Baking Show, an addictive baking competition show. The fantasy candy land setting itself will make you feel magical. On top of it, in the elimination challenge the contestants have to recreate Zumbo’s original creation, it is a visual treat and would increase your craving to try his masterpiece desserts. Zumbo Just Desserts has 2 seasons and is a magical wonderland which will make you feel good. It is a visual treat, but the lack of the host is a con in it.

Nailed It

“Nailed It!” is a Netflix original competition series about home bakers who attempt to recreate impressive desserts. This show is all about fun. The home baker’s innocence and funny mistakes in baking keep this show lively. The deadly recreation in a comic sense unusually relaxes your mind. Some jokes may annoy, but still overall “Nailed It” will put a smile on your face. Don’t miss the home baker, Amanda. You’ll love her.
