11 Fictional Movie Kids We Would Love to See Hanging out with the 'Stranger Things' Crew

Netflix's Stranger Things has invaded both our pop culture references and our hearts.

Not only does the series contain an intriguing story and characters you actually care about, but the kids who portray Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Eleven and Will are fantastic at what they do. Their acting abilities are great and just watch how lovable they are on The Tonight Show where Finn Wolfhard (Mike) pulls a rather nice burn on host Jimmy Fallon:

Hanging with the Stranger Things kids is pretty cool. You know what would be even cooler? The Goonies hanging out with the Stranger Things kids. Just think about all the hijinks they could potentially get into! Let's discuss some of our favorite fictional movie kids we'd love to see spend an afternoon with the gang, and by "gang" I'm referring to Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Eleven and Will. Joyce and Nancy are staying home for this one.

1. E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982)

Who Would They Hang Out With?

Elliot, Michael and maybe Gertie.

What Would They Do?

• All the kids would go on extravagant journeys on their bicycles and stuff their faces with Eggos and Reese's Pieces.
• Elliot and Mike could possibly both fight for Eleven's love or they could all join together and play Dungeons & Dragons.

2. Stand By Me (1986)

Who Would They Hang Out With?

Gordie, Chris, Teddy and Vern.

What Would They Do?

• Similarly to the E.T. crew, the two groups of kids would take long treks to wherever they please and utilize Eleven's abilities to calm Chopper "Sic-Balls" the Junkyard Dog down.
• Eleven and Chris can discuss how they both upkeep their respective hairdos.
• I could also see Lucas and Teddy growing frustrated with Dustin and Vern because they keep slowing the group down discussing the latest villain's motives in whatever comic book came out that month.

3. Now And Then (1995)

Who Would They Hang Out With?

Sam, Roberta, Chrissy, Teeny.

What Would They Do?

• Obviously there would be a bit of awkwardness at first between the two groups (except maybe with Eleven) because the opposite sex is arguably the most terrifying thing known to a human being when you're 12.
• Following the initial shyness, Roberta will school everyone in a game of baseball, which will cause Lucas to challenge her to some type of winner-take-all sports competition.
• After several hours of watching them go back and forth, they will all bond over milkshakes and their incredibly impressive detective skills.

4. The Goonies (1985)

Who Would They Hang Out With?

The Goonies, duh.

What Would They Do?

The question is what wouldn't they do?

• Another treasure map falls into their lap and they all must band together and utilize their respective talents to find the X.
• They could all have a sleep over at the Goonies' house and play Pretend Walk The Plank. Loser has to do the Truffle Shuffle for 10 minutes straight.
• The possibilities are endless!

5. The Little Rascals (1994)

Who Would They Hang Out With?

The He-Man Woman Haters Club (after they allow women into their club).

What Would They Do?

• Both groups of kids are clearly talented in creating elaborate places to hang out, so they will probably concoct a super-mansion in the woods complete with whatever type of defensive maneuvers they may need to keep Butch and Woim as far away as possible.

6. Adventures In Babysitting (1987)

Who Would They Hang Out With?

Sara, Brad and I guess Daryl while Chris babysits them.

What Would They Do?

• The Stranger Things gang will be in the city during this hang out and — oh no! — Chris's stupid friend managed to get stuck downtown again!
• The groups will then travel to and explore the wild world of downtown Chicago, treading in completely unfamiliar territory for the Stranger Things kids since they grew up in small town Hawkins.
• Everything goes fine though because Eleven manages to telekinetic anyone's ass that bothers them.
• They loved the Chicago hot dogs.

Elisabeth Shue genuinely kicked ass in this movie...

7. School Of Rock (2003)

Who Would They Hang Out With?

The music class of Horace Green Prep School.

What Would They Do?

• Leading Battle of the Bands champions, the School of Rock kids face the gang from Hawkins, Indiana in an intense musical competition wherein whoever has the best rendition of The Clash's "Should I Stay Or Should I Go?" wins some sort of prize.

8. Home Alone (1990)

Who Would They Hang Out With?

What Would They Do?

• Kevin is left home alone again (aw shit) and, fresh out of jail, the Wet Bandits are back with a vengeance. This time, it's more personal than the last time.
• The gang and Kevin sees Harry and Marv outside of the house. They call the police and Eleven keeps the villains in a frozen state so they don't escape and they're ultimately arrested again.
• The rest of their time is spent eating junk food and breaking into Kevin's school to see where his lunch lady is hiding the chocolate pudding.

• They would spend hours upon hours traveling in that glass elevator.

10. Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone (2001)

Who Would They Hang Out With?

Harry, Hermione and Ron.

What Would They Do?

• I just want to hear the fantastic observations Dustin would make about Hogwarts.
• Lucas would be infatuated with how Harry got his scar.
• Hermione and Eleven would probably science the shit out of something — maybe build a robot.

11. The Sound Of Music (1965)

Who Would They Hang Out With?

The Von Trapp crew.

What Would They Do?

This one is just something I personally want to see because I love the von Trapps so much.

• The siblings would try to get the gang to sing some of their "Favorite Things."
• Following that, they all hop on their bikes and go exploring! Exploring on bicycles for everybody!

After the evening was winding down, the gang could all go sing karaoke together, perhaps the Stranger Things theme music?
