10 Marvel Superheroes We Want to See in Film

Marvel superheroes like Captain Marvel are getting the silver screen treatment. Why not these heroes, too?

Marvel superheroes are really starting to take off, and now that studios are rolling out with even more heavy-hitters, it's hard to say where the fun will stop. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding at a breakneck speed, with multiple upcoming Marvel movies hitting theaters every year.

We already got to see big names like Spider-Man, Black Widow, Captain America, the X-Men, and the Incredible Hulk hit movie theaters. Heck, even Howard the Duck had his own (awkward) time in the limelight.

With all the talk about which superheroes will be stepping out of comic books and onto the screen, a lot of people are getting vocal about who they want to see. As an avid comic book fan, here are my bids for Marvel Universe superheroes that deserve a movie all their own.

Once an enemy of Captain America, Tilda Johnson ended up becoming one of the stronger and more developed heroes after joining the Occupy Avengers. Nightshade has already been a pretty good character on the TV show Luke Cage, and her dynamic is pretty impressive.

What makes Nightshade good is her believability. She's a great "troubled hero" who could turn villainous at any moment. If that doesn't scream "movie material," I don't know what does.

Kamala Khan

Kamala Khan is one of the most uplifting Marvel superheroes you can read about. I mean, she's pretty much living the dream that every True Believer wishes they could do.

She was a superfan of Ms. Marvel who later got chosen to take the mantle! Obviously, this comes with issues. She has to struggle with filling in massive shoes. Stan Lee created a really fleshed out character with her, and her own movie would be something that Marvel fans would absolutely adore. She is truly a superhero who doesn't have a movie, but deserves one.

If you watch Luke Cage, you already know Iron Fist as the man who can throw a nasty punch. This superhero got a lot of television show time after he teamed up with Luke Cage to work on Heroes for Hire alongside Cage and Nightshade.

This guy has star quality written all over him, and already has a strong following on the show. He's gritty, tough, and urban. He's working with a big name in the superhero world. What more can we ask for?

Namor

Real talk—how does Namor not have his own movie yet? Namor is one of the oldest Marvel superheroes in existence, has tons of ties in the comic book universe, and still somehow manages to look amazingly relevant after over seven decades of adventures.

At one point, Marvel did tease a Namor movie. Unfortunately, they decided to put the kibosh on it. Maybe it's time we start fishing for a new script and producer?

We all know that Batman is a DC Comics guy, but many casual watchers might not be aware of his Marvel counterpart. I'm talking, of course, about Moon Knight. He is a detective, a moody man, and uses his killer fighting skills to save the day.

In a universe where all the superheroes seem to have some kind of power, Moon Knight would be a very welcome breath of fresh air. His Dissociative Identity Disorder could also make for an amazing script.

Squirrel Girl

Who is Squirrel Girl and why do so many people want her to join the MCU?

Don't be fooled by her plucky nature. Squirrel Girl is one of those few Marvel superheroes that is as cute as she is dangerous. If you look at the comic book stats, she's actually stronger than Thanos!

She's young and peppy, sure, but she's a good pick for a movie because of that. Squirrel Girl's cult following would definitely go nuts for a movie starring the guardian of Central Park, don't you think?

Though The Incredible Hulk is not exactly one of the better movies that Marvel came up with, there's no denying that people want to see more Hulk on camera. A lot of fans have mentioned Red Hulk as a potential, and yes, he had his Civil War cameo, but what about She-Hulk?

She-Hulk could easily become one of the sexiest Marvel heroines of all time, and could also add a little bit of humor to the universe. Her powers are nothing to sneeze at, and she's been around long MCU to make it worth trying out for Marvel.

Callisto

Callisto is my personal favorite Marvel hero(ish) person in the entire universe. She was the leader of the underground sect of mutants known as Morlocks, and helped them survive in the New York City subway tunnels during a time when humanity hated mutants.

After being disfigured by humans who hated mutants, she always felt uneasy about being above ground. At one point, she tried to kidnap Cyclops and force him to marry her. Storm, of X-Men fame, defeated her in a duel.

I'm just saying, she's so warped, any drama surrounding her abilities would make for a great movie.

The Guardians of the Galaxy movie was great. So was Guardians Vol. 2. A third probably won't happen, but if it did, I really would be shocked if Nova didn't steal the spotlight from the rest of the Guardians.

This teenager ends up getting a helmet from Nova Corps, and has to figure out how to use it himself. By doing so, he becomes the youngest of all the Guardians you can read about now, though his origin story alone would make a great movie. What's Marvel waiting for?

Brother Voodoo

Most of the Marvel superheroes that have gotten screen time have a science fiction background, but I'm not sure that's actually a good thing. Like, doesn't Dr. Strange need someone to hang out with?

Brother Voodoo would make a good pick for a standalone movie. Haitian hoodoo, the title of Earth's Sorcerer Supreme, and a soul bonded with his deceased brother make him an amazing hero.
