The entertainment industry had a tough time in 2020. Theaters were closed down, and premieres were on hold. So, hopefully, 2021 will be better. Many canceled films will be releasing this year. Let's explore the top ten movies that movie-goers are excited to see (as soon as all cinemas open back up).

The Suicide Squad

James Gunn has reinvented a familiar story. It's thrilling to see Suicide Squad revitalized by a talented director. So far, there is a theatrical release for August 6, 2021. It will also be available for streaming on HBO Max.

Black Widow

The Scarlett Johansson flick was supposed to be released in 2020 but got stuck in lockdown limbo. The current release date is May 7, 2021. No matter what, Black Widow's origins will attract a large audience.

Dune

I do not know much about the book, but this looks like a cool movie. Dune is about a young man who travels through a dangerous planet to protect his people. The sci-fi spectacle stars Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Oscar Issacs, Jason Mamoa, and Rebecca Ferguson. The original release date was November 20, 2020. Due to the pandemic, the film had to reschedule to nearly a year later, on October 1, 2021. HBO Max is also planning to stream the epic tale.

In The Heights

In The Heights is based on the Broadway smash hit. It takes place in a Latin neighborhood of New York. A bodega owner inherits his grandmother's fortune and has mixed feelings about retiring in the Dominican Republic. Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote the music, so it must be good. After all, Hamilton was pretty damn incredible. The film expects to debut on June 18, 2021.

The French Dispatch

If you love Wes Anderson, then you'll love this. The film is a collection of stories taking place in twentieth-century France. It focuses on the art of journalism inspired by Wes's love of The New Yorker. The French Dispatch was to debut in October 2020. But the pandemic caused a push to 2021.

The King's Man

The King's Man is the origin story of the crime-fighting organization from The Kingsmen Saga. The action/adventure flick features Ralph Fiennes, Djimon Hounsou, Gemma Arterton, and Rhys Ifans. So far, the release date is March 12, 2021. It was originally set to release on September 18, 2020.

Free Guy

The lovable Ryan Reynolds plays a regular guy who turns out to be a minor character in a video game. He decides to become the hero of his own story and gets into an action-packed adventure with Jodie Comer. It will be nice to see something more original come to the big screen. The film will premiere on May 21, 2021.

The Little Things

If Denzel Washington is the leading man, then the movie has to be incredible. Denzel is a California deputy sheriff who teams up with an LAPD detective to capture a serial killer. The film has all the thrills chills that one would want from the crime genre. The Little Things will debut on both HBO Max and in theaters on January 29, 2021.

A Quiet Place Part 2

The critically acclaimed horror film now has a sequel. Part two follows the Abbot family as they face the dangers that await outside their home. Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou join the cast. The anticipated new chapter will release on April 23, 2021.

Respect

Respect is a biopic about the iconic career of Aretha Franklin. Jennifer Hudson is the perfect choice to play the legendary queen of soul. The movie is to be in theaters on August 13, 2021.
