Let the countdown Commence!!!

TGS, or the Tokyo Game Show 2018, was outstanding this year to say the very least, we received everything from remasters to new releases and from the even I've compiled my own list of the 10 Biggestannouncements from the event.

Let's begin!

Number 10: 'Judge Eyes; (Project JUDGE)

Crime fighting... with style.

From the creators of Yakuza comes an all-new game with the former series' feel. Judge Eyes, although similar to Yakuza, flips the script slightly landing you on the opposite side of the law as an investigator, fighting against the organized crime and solving mysteries. This is a large change from the aforementioned series Sega worked on and seems to breathe a whole new life into the gaming world.

From the trailer that was given to us, you'll play as an infiltrator/investigator looking into a string of murders that recently have been happening in the city. Although not much else is known this new title has fans and newcomers all excited to see what comes in the future.

Judge Eyes is planning to be released sometime next year.

Number 9: 'The Last Remnant Remastered' (PS4)

Old school gaming with a new coat of paint? Sign me up!

Yet another Square Enix title on the list, The Last Remnant Remastered is a reimagining of the original title on the Xbox 360. It was originally going to be released on 360 and PS3 however people the latter never got their chance to experience the cult classic until now. With upgraded graphics to compliment the already compelling storyline, this announcement surprised many.

The game is set in a fictional world featuring a number of distinct humanoid races: the Mitras, human in appearance, the Yamas, strong fish-like people, the Qsitis, small reptilians, and the Sovanis, feline people with four arms. The world itself is broken up into multiple city-states, each with their own unique culture. The game revolves around "Remnants," ancient magical artifacts, which sparked several wars throughout history.

The Last Remnant Remastered is set to release December 6th, 2018.

Number 8: 'Left Alive'

For any Metal Gear Solid fans out there, this is for you!

Left Alive was another surprising announcement at TGS this year (and also another Square Enix game).

Left Alive is a new survival action shooter announced during the event that will include many notable names from the beloved Metal Gear Solid series as well as other major titles. Big name developers, Toshifumi Nabeshima, Yoji Shinkawa, and Takayuki Yanase work together to make this brand new action-packed game, bringing Left Alive’s dark, gritty, and intriguing world to life.

Left Alive tells a human story of survival from the perspective of three different protagonists during the devastating invasion set in war-torn Novo Slava in 2127.

According to the website:

"In this game, you'll be able to experience the massive power gap between man and machine first-hand in the pulse-pounding encounters it will provide. Faceoff against powerfully armed troops, armored vehicles, and towering mechs."

For any fan of MGS, Armored Core, Xenoblade/Xenogears this is the title for you

Left Alive is set to release sometime in 2019 (and I personally can't wait!)

Number 7: 'The Ace Attorney Trilogy'

OBJECTION!!!

Now this one may not actually be news to some because the trilogy was already for 3DS back in 2014, however, I believe that due to the massive success and backing behind the series Capcom believed that it'd only be right to relieve each case on the big screen as well.

The Ace Attorney Trilogy will feature all three original games and will let you replay the games (or play them for the first time) in high-quality HD as well as updated graphics too.

The very first Ace Attorney game was released in 2001 for the Nintendo DS, it allowed you to play a young and inexperienced Phoenix Wright as he worked his way through each compelling case, going above and beyond to uncover the absolute truth.

If this interests you at all then you will be glad to know that the Ace Attorney Trilogy will be released in early 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.

Number 6: 'Jump Force' (New Characters + Character Creation)

Super Fourth Bijuu Mode ACTIVATE!!!

I believe it's safe to safe that I am a HUGE anime/manga fan, and Jump Force is the very embodiment of what people have wanted since J Stars. Although Jump Force hasn't been recently announced there were new video and screenshots of new characters as well as the ability to create your own character in the game. Shinobi Strikers and Xenoverse have both implemented their own character creation, but with a game as large as Jump Force with a roster as big as this, the amount of different possible characters you can create seems nearly endless to the public eye!

There is no set release date, but Jump Force will be released sometime in 2019 as well.

Number 5: 'Devil May Cry 5' (New Characters + Multiplayer?!)

Yes, you read this right, it IS a new Devil May Cry game WITH multiplayer in it.

Fans have been waiting for a main series release from DMC since the release of Devil May Cry 4 in 2008, and over 10 years later their collective wishes have been answered.

In this newest installment, you'll have the chance to play as Nero and Dante in the game, as well as a third playable character known as "V." And on top of this news, it was also showed off that DMC 5 would have multiplayer with up to 3 players in a single game, with one player controlling Dante.

Also, as a bonus, it was shown that there will be a motorcycle that is also a rather versatile weapon in the game as well.

Devil May Cry 5 is set to release on March 8th, 2019

Number 4: 'Death Stranding' (New Characters + An Antagonist?)

Where Are They Now?: Hideo Kojima

A unique visitor on Sony's stage conveyed a fitting peak to Tokyo Game Show 2018. At the finish of the very last day of the show, Hideo Kojima showed up on the PlayStation stage to discuss his highly anticipated newest title; Death Stranding.

If anything, the stage event was a reminder that Kojima is just as much of a phenomenon in his home country as in the West (he's a beloved creator all over the globe!). Literally, thousands of fans gathered in front of the PlayStation stage, stretching all the way to the back of the cavernous venue, and roared with delight at every new announcement and a new minute-long trailer.

This was by far the largest gathering of that TGS had seen all day and for good reason. Fittingly, the first comment Kojima made when appearing on stage was, “I can’t believe how many people came!”

In the trailer, a mysterious golden-masked character appeared for the first time and will be voiced by the talented Troy Baker, who performed the voice of Revolver Ocelot in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

One more new character was announced. Kojima explained that this character will be the captain of the organization that Norman Reedus' character belongs to.

There is no set release date for Death Stranding as of yet, but it is believed that this game will be released before 2019.

Number 3: 'Kingdom Hearts 3' ('Big Hero 6' World!)

We won't let the darkness win!

Not much was really revealed for Kingdom Hearts 3, unless you love Big Hero 6, then it was kind of a big deal! In their newest trailer, you see Sora and gang team up with Baymax and his crew in San Fransokyo. There isn't too much that I can say that you can't just watch from the video, however, let this set in, Kingdom Hearts 2 (the last home console title) was released in 2005. With other 10 years of waiting fans have BEEN ready for this to release for a long while, so expectations are rather high the Keyblade wielder, but judging from what we've seen I'm not worried in the slightest.

Number 2: 'Resident Evil 2' Remake

The undead entry lives again

A new story trailer for Resident Evil 2 Remake premiered at Tokyo Game Show, giving a further glimpse at Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy's stories.

In the original version, you play as Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy as the traverse the zombie-filled streets of Raccoon City. In the original, you played with fixed camera angles while using directional controls or "tank controls" to maneuver the vast landscape. With this remake of the title, however, you will be playing as both survivors in a more intense and personal third-person perspective, with over the shoulder gameplay instead. On top of the gameplay getting an upgrade the graphics got a large overhaul as well, looking nearly nothing like the PS1 release with its pixel faced characters and pre-rendered backgrounds, this remake reimagines Racoon City as the living nightmare that was originally envisioned for the series.

Resident Evil 2 launches on January 25, 2019, and will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Number 1: Playstation Classic Mini Console

Big games, Mini console

I've already written about this in an earlier article, so if you'd like to read about it i'll leave a link for it right here. But if you'd like a simpler (TL;DR) version, Sony created a minimized version of their original PlayStation that includes 20 games preinstalled in the console and will retail for around $100. If you're a big fan of early PlayStation games (including the likes of Final Fantasy 7) then this is a must buy for you, no doubt about it, this could potentially become a collector's item so I highly recommend this for any PlayStation fan or newcomer.
