Welcome to The Weekly Tick, Elite dangerous’ premier news publication. Covering current events, economy, politics, and everything in-between our goal is to give you a far deeper insight into the fabric of our society than Galnet could ever offer.

It's been a slow week with big implications leaving many people unsure of the future in many systems. In more good news we've added 2 new columns however one is still a work in progress we are hoping to have finalised by next week.

News

Summer(land) Time is Over

Mercenary leader Colonel Ronan Brock was killed this past week ending the Battle of Summerland in favour of the Empire. He was shot down as he was fleeing from the Onyx Storm Megaship after the empire and independent pilots battered the terrorist armada with high power weaponry. Emperor Arissa praised all who helped and triumphantly declared:

“Let the Battle of Summerland mark the victorious end of our bitter war against both the NMLA and the traitors who sought to destabilise the Empire.”

The ACT added :

“Although there may always be Neo-Marlinist extremists, the large-scale threat of the NMLA has finally been nullified.”

They also clarified that all information from the omega grid has been revealed to the relevant agencies.

With the Darkwater and NMLA threats removed the empire has installed Praetorian Vigil as a proxy governor in the Summerland system. If you are one of the brave commanders who helped fight back the mercenary forces you can redeem your combat bonds at Henry O’Hares Hangar. The permit exemption will remain for the next two weeks.

Mahon Reprimanded by Alliance

After the recent skirmishes in the Reorte system the Alliance Assembly has officially rebuked its prime minister. Heated debates follow the conflicts between Sirius Corporation and Reorte Mining Coalition after Sirius Corp attempted to establish themselves as an Anti Xeno defence force. Councillor Nakato Kaine led a motion to censure PM Edmund Mahon which passed successfully. After Mahon accepted the reprimand, Kaine addressed the assembly.

“This body does not have the right to govern its member systems without their consent. The strategic defence pact must become civil legislation rather than a military contract, so it can be passed as law.”

“I call upon Li Yong-Rui to agree to these terms, or else to abandon the pact and remove Sirius Corporation’s forces from the Alioth, Arimpox, Di Jian and Leesti systems.”

Showcase

In a slight expansion from last week's edition we are introducing a showcase which highlights our top 3 pictures and locations found in the r/eliteexplorers subreddit.

Community Stories

This column will consist of stories and reports from commanders we find in the r/elitedangerous subreddit, Instagram communities, or discord communities. We are going to aim for at least 2 of these for each issue but they could be inconsistent due to the nature of community outreach.
