The Three-Four Streak Principle
A Patient Bettor’s Guide to Reading Baccarat Trends
The Simple Truth
Go into any baccarat room (whether it’s in a casino or online) and you’ll notice something almost every player has in common… they’re searching for patterns.
Some players chase streaks. Others bet against them. Some players try reading the scoreboards, while others ignore all of them completely. Theres a lot of strategies out there of course, but the simple truth is that most players develop habits before they develop discipline. Knowing and applying the difference can be what puts you into consistent profits.
This strategy guide isn’t about promising impossible results. As you should all be aware, baccarat is a game of chance. You cannot predict the next hand no matter how hard you try or what strategy you use. This strategy guide is also not just necessarily about slowing down, observing, or waiting- its about attacking when the moment is right. It’s also about being able to withdraw your profits when you’re up and recoup when the shoe inevitably swings.
You’ll discover later in this guide that one of your best opportunituitues to wager your bet is based on a very specific situation that occurs only after certain streak patterns appear together. Rather than forcing bets every few hands, the approach encourages patience, consistency, and selective wagering. In otherwords; discipline.
The Game & A Very Important Rule
Before revealing the strategy itself, it’s important to understand the game of baccarat, the psychology behind streak betting, and the mistakes that quietly empty most bankrolls.
Baccarat attracts all types of players, especially serious ones. The game has remained one of the most popular casino games for decades because its rules are simple and the decisions required from the player are essentially limited.
Unlike poker, you aren’t competing against other players. Unlike blackjack, you aren’t making decisions on every card or worrying about other people’s decisions. And unlike roulette or slot machines, there is a lot more control in terms of your outcome.
A round produces one of three outcomes:
• Banker wins
• Player wins
• Tie
Many experienced players avoid betting on ties because they happen less frequently and usually carry a much larger house advantage despite the attractive payout which is typically 8 or 9 to 1.
Despite its name the Banker bet does not win every time. Casinos charge a commission on Banker wins because that wager has a slightly lower house edge than betting on the Player. That small mathematical difference is one reason many experienced baccarat players prefer Banker bets over the long run. Some casinos, especially online ones, have an option to play non-comission aswell.
Even though each hand is independent, human beings naturally look for order within randomness. That’s why baccarat scoreboards have become such an important part of the game. They allow players to see previous results at a glance, creating the impression that trends may be developing. Whether those trends have predictive value is debated. What isn’t debated is that disciplined players often use scoreboards to determine when they’ll place a wager rather than betting every hand.
One of the biggest mistakes players make and never learn from is that they believe action = opportunity. In reality, constant betting usually means constant exposure to the house edge. Patience is often the most valuable skill a baccarat player can develop.
If you’ve played baccarat before, you’ve probably been in this position: chasing your losses. One losing wager quickly becomes two. Two becomes four and befote long, your emotions replace your judgement and your bankroll completely depletes.
Successful bankroll management begins with accepting that losing sessions are part of gambling. If you can’t accept this, you probably should not be gambling. Increasing wagers simply to recover previous losses often creates even larger setbacks. This problem often begins becsuse people do not sell bankroll limits.
Your bankroll should determine your wager size, not your confidence. A player with a $500 bankroll should not be making $100 bets simply because a streak “feels due.” One wrong bet and that’s a whole fifth of your bankroll gone in a snap. If you want to keep your bankroll, you need to understand that discipline will always outlast initial rush and excitement.
One of the easiest traps is seeing significance in every scoreboard. One of the central ideas of this guide is that waiting for a very specific combination of events can be more valuable than constantly searching for action. It focuses on select situations rather than continuous betting.
Not every streak deserves a wager.
I cannot stress this enough.
The best wager is often the one you don’t make. Many players spend hours placing hundreds of bets instead of looking for reasons to bet, and there are so many reasons to wait. When the right conditions finally appear, you’ll understand exactly why they matter—and why they occur far less often than most players realize.
The Strat
Everything in this guide has led to one simple idea: patience. Most baccarat players feel the need to have action on every hand. They convince themselves that every streak means something, every chop is an opportunity, and every scoreboard is telling a story. In reality, constantly betting exposes you to the house edge more often. This approach is the opposite. This is the three-four streak principle. Most shoes will produce countless streaks, but very few produce the exact conditions that this strategy looks for.
The rule is straightforward.
I begin paying close attention when a streak of four appears on the scoreboard while simoulteanously elsewhere on another scoreboard, there is already a completed streak of three. When those two conditions exist together, I consider betting against the streak of four on the next hand. The reasoning is simple. Rather than reacting to every trend, I wait until the shoe has already demonstrated multiple streaks of different lengths. This narrows my betting opportunities considerably and keeps me from forcing wagers simply because I’m sitting at the table.
If the situation never appears, I simply don’t bet. There is nothing wrong with watching an entire shoe and making only one or two wagers—or none at all. Discipline is part of the strategy. The Four-Streak Principle is, above all, a system built around patience. It encourages waiting for specific conditions, maintaining disciplined bet sizes, and accepting that not every shoe will produce an opportunity worth betting.
Once the core of that message is understood, you can apply it to any strategy you can think of or find elsewhere. If you take only one lesson from this guide, let it be this: the strongest tool any baccarat player has is not a betting system—it’s the ability to wait. Treat this strategy as one method of structuring your decisions, remain disciplined with your bankroll, and never risk money you cannot afford to lose. Whether you win or lose on any individual session, following consistent rules will always serve you better than chasing every hand the scoreboard presents.
