Minecraft is one of my favorite games I mentioned before in several gaming stories. For example, I introduce An Insane Minecraft Redstone Creation.

Minecraft, the popular sandbox video game, is finally receiving the long-awaited and highly anticipated archaeology feature. The new tool, type of sand, and various items to discover will be part of the Minecraft 1.20 update later this year.

Fans of the game who have been keeping a close eye on the Minecraft rumor mill are likely thrilled to hear this confirmation from Mojang, the game’s developer.

Mojang originally announced the archaeology feature in 2020 but postponed it several times, causing disappointment among fans of the game. However, Mojang has now confirmed the feature’s arrival in a recent announcement post.

About the new features

The new feature will allow players to find a new type of sand called suspicious sand near desert temples in the game.

Using a new tool called the brush, players will be able to uncover hidden tools, bones, sniffer eggs, and pottery shards by brushing away the suspicious sand blocks.

The pottery shards are particularly interesting, as they contain partial patterns that players can combine to create ancient pots with unique stories.

This new addition to the game fits well with the Sniffer, another new addition to the game that will also be part of the 1.20 update.

The Sniffer is a creature that was brought back to life in the game, reminiscent of the popular film Jurassic Park. Digging up Sniffer eggs with the new brush tool is sure to be a fun and exciting experience for players.

Mojang has not disclosed all the features of the 1.20 update and intends to reveal them gradually in the lead-up to the launch date.

The developers have learned from their past mistakes of announcing features too early and now plan to release information in a more controlled manner. According to Mojang, the feature will be available in snapshot builds and Bedrock versions betas very soon.

Fans of Minecraft are encouraged to keep an eye on the Minecraft.net website and Mojang’s social media channels for more information about the remaining features of the 1.20 update.

The long-awaited archaeology feature is finally here, and players can look forward to discovering hidden treasures and uncovering ancient stories in the world of Minecraft.
