Introducing legendary champion into the Raid Shadow Legends game.

But before we start diving into the game section, let us first go trough the history and myth about our mighty warrior.

HISTORY

Sun Wukong, often referred to as the Monkey King, is a legendary figure in Chinese mythology and folklore. He is a central character in the classic Chinese novel "Journey to the West," written by Wu Cheng'en during the Ming Dynasty. Sun Wukong is known for his remarkable abilities, rebellious spirit, and his quest for enlightenment.

Sun Wukong's origins can be traced to a stone in the Huaguo Mountain, which was exposed to the energies of heaven and earth, leading to the creation of a magical stone monkey. This monkey gained extraordinary powers, including the ability to shape-shift, command the wind and clouds, and use a staff known as the "Ruyi Jingu Bang," which could expand or shrink at will. His rebellious nature led him to challenge the gods and even proclaim himself the "Great Sage, Equal of Heaven."

Sun Wukong's story takes a significant turn when he becomes a disciple of the Tang monk Xuanzang (also known as Tripitaka) during their legendary journey to retrieve sacred scriptures from India. In this epic adventure, Sun Wukong, along with other companions, faces various challenges, including battles with demons, monsters, and supernatural beings.

One of his most famous encounters is with the Dragon King of the Eastern Sea, whom he defeats and obtains a magical weapon, a gold-banded headband. This headband has the unique ability to tighten and cause him immense pain when the mantra is chanted, bringing him under control when his behavior becomes unruly. This episode demonstrates the complexities of his character, as he can be both defiant and deeply loyal to his master.

Sun Wukong's character development throughout "Journey to the West" is a central theme. Over time, he evolves from a mischievous and defiant figure into a more disciplined and compassionate one. He gains wisdom and humility as he faces trials and tribulations on his journey, ultimately striving for spiritual enlightenment.

Sun Wukong's adventures have made him a beloved character in Chinese culture. His story has been adapted into various forms of media, including literature, theater, film, and television. He symbolizes the indomitable spirit and the capacity for transformation and growth within each person. His journey from an unruly monkey to a revered and enlightened figure has resonated with generations of readers and viewers, making him one of the most enduring and iconic figures in Chinese folklore.

SKILLS

MASTERIES

Like most Attack-type Champions, Sun Wukong will benefit from building down the left-hand side of the Offense Mastery Tree combined with the right-hand side of the Support Mastery Tree. As he shines best in Arena, make sure to grab the Helmsmasher Tier 6 Mastery to help ignore additional DEF for more damage. The right-hand side of the Support Tree is great for Accuracy and Speed, helping Sun Wukong get his turn more often and land debuffs.
