REVIEW: God of War 3

We follow Kratos, the angry man from Greece, as he pushes towards Mount Olympus to exact his revenge against Zeus. It's the ultimate culmination of the series... God Of War 2018 I've never heard of it. Joking aside, God of War 2018 or as I like to call it, Norse Boogaloo, is a possibility that this trilogy will end. If we can ignore it, how does God of War3's story compare to the rest of this trilogy?

I would say it's pretty good. Although it does not have the same personal stakes as the first game, I believe it should. From the personal revenge mission of a man against a monstrous god in his past to the challenge of the remaining Greek gods, we've moved on. It's an escalation of Kratos’ big, bloody story. As a final touch, God of War3's tale is satisfying.

This game's gameplay is basically unchanged from the previous. There are a few new toys and minor tweaks, but that's about it. It's always been satisfying to cut enemies in half and pound them with your knives. It's even better with the minor adjustments that God of War3 makes. Platforming feels a little better. It's unclear if they dumbed it down for me or if I got better at playing games. But there were less platforming frustrations.

There were a few contextual traversal methods that I found quite cute. The puzzles are fun, even though they may not be the easiest. The gameplay is perfect.

The presentation of this franchise is a strong point. The PS2 was pushed to the limit by the first two games. The God of War3 game was powered by the PS3, so Santa Monica Studio could enhance the visuals. Although I did play the PS4 remaster, you can still see that the original game is no slouch. This game is extremely detailed, which means that you can get more brutal and gory kills (which has caused some controversy but it's not the end of the matter). These graphics allow the player to see a lot of blood, guts and other unpleasant things. While blood and gore don't always make or break a game. However, I believe the detail in this video is a crucial part of showing Kratos' evolution from violent anti-heroine to borderline villain. If you're not a fan of the visuals, this game isn't for your needs. If you don't like spectacular vistas or epic set pieces, you may not be able to tolerate the visuals.

This game also features some amazing music. This is not surprising to me as I remember the great music in the previous games. With the extra money and other resources, they were able go all out with epic brass, woodwind and strings. This is the big one, just by listening to the music.

Gerard Marino and Cris Velasco, Ron Fish and Mike Reagan (the composers), I say WELL DONE! The voice cast (as in previous titles), is absolutely fantastic. T.C. T.C. I'd also like to mention some of their bigger names.

The franchise is known for getting high-profile actors to play supporting roles. They once again did a great job with this, getting talent like Rip Torn (may his soul rest in peace), Malcolm McDowell and Kevin Sorbo. Yes, the cast of this game is fantastic.

God of War3 is a thrilling action game that also serves as a satisfying ending to Kratos’ story... and a way to test how much violence your stomach can withstand. This game is the best in terms music, gameplay, and presentation. I highly recommend it. You should not have any trouble playing the game with the current-gen remaster. God of War 3 was my favorite entry in this franchise.

It does everything for me.
