We have greatest and latest graphic cards, and gaming has grown in different dimensions. We own laptops, smart TVs connecting our consoles, switches and mobile games are popular these days. Two decades back, when personal computers were a mainstay at homes, there were thousands of games. Many games have become obsolete. If you grew up with PC in your home like me, you would have played many games which you can’t recollect today. I will highlight few games which will kindle your forgotten memories and make you feel nostalgic. If you haven’t played these games, give it a shot. It will be a unique experience and who knows, it might become your new favorite.

Big Kahuna Reef

Big Kahuna Reef is a tile matching puzzle game developed by Reflexive Entertainment. It’s an underwater board game where things have to be matched in horizontal/vertical lines of three or more. To clear a level, player must break all chains.

New fishes and undersea creatures get unlocked between the levels. One can play this game in time mode or relaxed play mode. The player can create and observe their personal reef in Fish screen mode. They can set the personalized reef as screensaver in their system. I loved to watch the reef when I was a kid. Overall, it’s a relaxing game with challenging difficulty levels.

The Mushroom Age

The Mushroom Age is my favorite game. I have played it around some 100 times right from my childhood. The last time I played it was in the lockdown 2020 to up my lowered spirit. I love the challenging puzzles and time twisting mini games in it. It is an adventure game. We have to help Vera find her lost love by travelling to earth’s past and present. Time travel in the 2000s was interesting and futuristic. Professor Einbock, not Einstein, is my favorite character in this game. The game is light, humorous and has a lot of fun elements in it.

Top Chef

There are a lot of amazing cooking simulation games with high-end graphics today. Back in olden days, there were only a handful of cooking games with good graphics. Top chef is one of the best cooking games in the 2000s developed by Gamelab. It’s based on the popular television show on the cable network Bravo.

You play an aspiring chef who wants to become a top chef. You must work your way through 15 episodes of the show, tackling cooking challenges. Each episode has three segments, and at the end of each segment you’re critiqued by host Padma Lakshmi and head judge Tom Colicchio. In this game, you need to use ingredients wisely and prepare dishes. It’s not a game which teaches cooking. It is a cooking game which mimics reality show.

Bubble Trouble

Bubble Trouble is a retro shooter game in which a single character should shoot the bouncing bubbles within time frame provided. It starts with one bubble and when you shoot it down, it will split into many bubbles. To clear the level, one must shoot all the bubbles. Bubble size increases with each level. If the bouncing bubble hits you, then it’s game over. It has both single player and two player mode. It's a great game to play with friends.

Magic Match

Magic match is a match-three puzzle game in an enchanting fantasy theme. You can explore mystical realms with the help of Giggles, the imp, to become the master of magic. Beautiful cut-scenes present an entertaining story, and lots of power-ups and special features will keep you enticed. The imp’s sound effect, reactions and music will mesmerize you. You can virtually travel to the fantasy magic land while playing this board game. It has 6 realms and 100+ magical levels.

Unearth these old treasured gems and travel back to your childhood.
