Last Sim Standing: Inheritance!

A Sims 4 Challenge for horrible people.

This is what I would call a Morally Terrible Challenge for people who enjoy a more chaotic gameplay. Are you here for a soap-opera-like storyline and Sims stabbing each other on the back in their thirst for Simoleons? Then this might be the challenge for you.

However, if you’re looking for something wholesome and family-oriented and only clicked here by mistake… I apologize for what you're about to read.

THE PLAYERS:

You’ll start the game with 5 Sims:

- 4 young adult Sims, each with a different Aspiration.

- 1 parent Sim who’s either an adult or an elderly depending on how long you’d like your con to be.

THE PREMISE:

These four young adult Sims are your Sim Heirs and they do not like each other. They’re simply keeping up appearances to please their Parent Sim and secure their inheritance. At the end of this challenge, the winning Sim will be the sole remaining heir, having outlived and/or outsmarted their siblings.

THE RULES: PART I: PARENT DEAREST

The Parent Sim can have either Fortune Aspiration. There's no need to complete the Aspiration; it's up to you.

While the Parent Sim is alive, all money cheats are allowed. You can give them as many Simoleons as you wish and keep refilling their bank account once it gets too low. You can make your own house at no additional cost, or use the Free Real Estate cheat, just make sure each family member has their own room/wing of the house.

Each Sim Heir must have a different aspiration and cannot have a job or earn income. If there’s no way around it, they must spend their income as quickly as they make it, and this rule is valid throughout the game.

Each Sim Heir is allowed to have a partner and/or children. Rules on how to spend money on them will be listed in Part II below.

The moment the Parent Sim dies, you can no longer use money cheats. Whatever is left plus anything in the household is what the Sim Heirs will be playing for.

Now that we’ve had our first death, LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

THE OBJECTIVE:

The Sim Heir's job is:

1. To be the last Sim standing.

2. To use as much of the inheritance as they can before the other Sims.

Your objective, since you’re the one controlling all the Heirs, is just to have fun and cause as much Mayhem as possible.

THE RULES: PART II: GRIEVING CHILDREN

These greedy Sims don’t want to take any chances. They want to get everything, or make sure their siblings get NOTHING! Now that their source of income has passed and the Simoleons won’t be refilled, they will make sure they’re the last one standing, or make sure there’s nothing left to spend.

However:

1. Sims can only spend money to complete their Aspiration. If the Aspiration is completed, you might give them a “daily allowance”.

2. Sims can also use Simoleons to complete their partner or child’s Aspirations, but they don’t get an allowance once that is done.

3. Plot-related expenses are allowed: bills, eating out, buying everybody drinks, dates, anniversary gifts, birthdays, etc.

4. Your Sims are allowed to get married and/or have children as long as they share the same household. More children will give you more ways to spend money. Pets are allowed if they're related to an Aspiration.

5. The player cannot interfere in the game by making Sims drown, starve, or any other death that can’t be reached “naturally”.

6. Sim Heirs can attempt to “accelerate” each other’s death by natural means - anger, laughter, embarrassment, etc. To ensure fairness, you could use a timer, or take turns between Sims when they’re having a discussion.

7. Once a Sim is dead, their partner/child must move into another household. They only take whatever is in their inventory. Did they get a piano from their partner and leave it in the dining hall? That’s not leaving the house. Inventory only.

8. Sims inherit their partner’s Simoleons and Inventory in case they pass away first.

9. You can make the Sim Heirs hate each other, form alliances, stab each other in the back, or start fights randomly in the name of Fun and Chaos. Or… they could just be one happy family - but what is the fun in that?

RUNNING OUT OF MONEY:

If the household funds end, you may start selling furniture to pay for your living expenses.

If the furniture is all gone, you may sell the walls or entire rooms. You can keep toilets, fridges, and other essentials, or exchange them for cheaper items until there's nothing left to sell.

If there truly is nothing left to sell, the Sim Heirs have lost the game.

THE WINNER:

The winning Sim will be the one who stays alive long enough to get all of the remaining Simoleons. At this point, all family members that aren’t related to the winning Sim will be kicked out with nothing but their inventory, and everything will be sold.

The winning Sim will then move to their place of choice and retire with their loved ones in style.

WANT TO PLAY THIS IN CHAOS MODE?

1. I designed this with 5 Sims in mind, but you can start the game with a full house if you wish. You just might need to tweak the rules a bit here and there.

2. You could also try to complete your Sim Heirs Aspirations before the Parent Sim passes away. If they don't complete their Aspiration, they'll be deemed a disappointment and be left out of the will, forcing them to move out.

3. If you’d like to add an extra layer of difficulty (and be even more of a horrible Sim), you can start with 50K-100K, then refill once you reach close to zero (how close is up to you). If the parent dies before you get the chance to refill the inheritance, then that’s too bad. The Heirs will only get whatever little money is left, plus the property. Of course, in this situation, one of the Sim Heirs might try to… uhhh… “ensure” the parent dies before the money is spent. Not that they should do that, of course.

NEED A FAMILY?

By the time this article is up, I should have a horrible family and their enormous household in the gallery: @hufflepuffmandy
