When #LANoire was first released in 2011, the detective adventure game took fans back into the 1940s, and featured some of the most cutting edge facial animations seen to date.

Today, Rockstar Games has announced that the game is getting re-released on all four major platforms followed by a VR version that will be released for the HTC Vive. While it is unclear when the VR version will launch, it has been announced that the Nintendo #Switch, #PlayStation4, and #XboxOne versions of L.A. Noire will be launching on November 14, bringing some new features for all three platforms. So let's take a look at what's new.

The Nintendo Switch version of 'L.A. Noire' will be getting some special features.

Right now is a great time to be a gamer. We are getting a chance to see once classic franchises brought over into the current era of consoles. Each of these re-releases also comes with some much needed changes. For Nintendo, this will be the first time they will be featuring an 18+ game on their platform in recent years.

The Nintendo Switch version of L.A. Noire will include the original game with all DLC content available for players to enjoy, but there is a new addition for fans. The game will take full advantage of the Switch's gyroscopic, gesture-based controls, and HD rumble, as well as new shoulder angles, camera angles, and touch screen controls for those playing on the handheld.

Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro owners will get to enjoy the game in 4K resolution.

For fans of L.A. Noire that want to enjoy the game without the motion-based controls, you can enjoy the game the way you would have on last gen, but with a few new tweaks. This version will feature the original game with all downloadable content, but with a few new improvements not seen on the previous generation of consoles.

This new version will feature enhanced lighting and clouds, new cinematic camera angles, and high resolution textures, which weren't available on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. The game will also get 4K support for the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X consoles.

'L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files' is headed to the HTC Vive VR Headset

If you are an owner of HTC's VR headset the Vive, you are in luck. The developer has announced that the L.A. Noire experience has had seven self-contained cases from the original game rebuilt specifically for those wanting to play in VR. The company hasn't emphasized much more on whether or not this version will be headed to the PlayStation VR headset, but it seems if there is enough interest, there will be a chance for such a thing to happen.

If you want to play just the remastered versions, you can pick them up on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, as well as the L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files starting on November 14, 2017.
