Kingdom Hearts IV has been announced.

Yes, it has been only three years since Kingdom Hearts III was released when the fourth installment of the franchise is only. We are getting closer to continuing the adventure of our main hero Sora and his never-ending battle against the forces of darkness. Smaller games are also in development that will continue to expand the Kingdom Hearts lore for the twentieth anniversary of the franchise. With that being said, what can we expect to see in this latest installment?

A Realm Of Dreams

It has been a while since we last saw Sora. In the last game, Sora disappeared after winning the mythical Keyblade War and defeating the main villain of the game, Master Xehanort. Now it, seems everyone and anyone are looking for him in an effort to bring him home.

Sora finds himself in a strange city area with an unknown female companion. They are soon attacked by a massive creature of darkness, who is most likely an even deadlier version of his ancient enemies, the Heartless. It is hard to say what Sora’s next great adventure will be as the story continues to get deeper and more complex.

The gameplay looks amazing as well. Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura has said that Kingdom Hearts IV will use the latest Unreal Engine 5. The graphics of Kingdom Hearts have grown into almost semi-realistic designs. The worlds have become much more expansive and in-depth. This makes for even greater gameplay designs as well as others. Players will be able to explore the open worlds as well as fight massive bosses. It will be amazing to see as Kingdom Hearts continues to move forward.

Some of the other games involve Donald and Goofy entering Hades itself to find their friend Sora. As well as stories delving into the ancient past to expand the background of the main story.

Twenty Years Of Story

The announcement of Kingdom Hearts IV arrives just in time for the twentieth anniversary of Kingdom Hearts. It is amazing to think that Kingdom Hearts has been around for as long as it has, telling the epic saga of Sora the Keyblade Master, and his journey throughout the Disney universe. We have seen him go from a simple and clean story of good vs. evil, light vs dark to a deep discussion about what the heart means, the various sides of it, life and death, along with more profound philosophical discussions.

Kingdom Hearts IV also seems to be digging deeper into its own in-universe mythology, focusing on heavier subjects. The Kingdom Hearts franchise has gone from just the simple and clean Disney-Final Fantasy crossover to this wide and impressive franchise of more than nine games and a few mobile games as well. All of them come together to create a wide tapestry of an epic story for the ages.

The Kingdom Hearts franchise is one of fantastic storytelling as well as epic gameplay. Its remarkable story of heroism, friendship, courage, faith, and love has been going on for twenty years. It is a classic tale of good vs. evil mixed in with deep philosophical discussions. This great mythic universe still has many years of stories left to tell.

May our hearts be our guiding key.
