WARNING: This article will contain spoilers regarding Resident Evil: Village. If you have not yet played this game; or are currently playing it, please do not read any further.

This article is bound to cause a lot of arguments.

Capcom wasted the potential they had for Karl Heisenberg. It is upsetting to see such a memorable character from Resident Evil: Village not fully utilized. Despite being a recognizable character with his Western-esque attire mixed with Rob Zombie, Karl Heisenberg had so much going for him. Yet, Capcom just did not think straight.

Here are seven reasons why I believe Karl Heisenberg deserved better.

1. Heisenberg's Origins Were Very Vague.

I was very let down that the origins of Karl Heisenberg were very vague. His history was largely ignored in favor of being a villain. In all seriousness, I would have loved to have seen more about Heisenberg's childhood. For example, what was he like before the influence of Mother Miranda?

Sadly, that was never answered. Also, what lead to Heisenberg's interest in Engineering? Although it has been noted that Lady Dimitrescu was once a Jazz singer and Wine Maker, we never learn about the history behind Heisenberg. Lastly, how is it possible for a Romanian to speak English with a perfect American accent?

2. It Was Foolish of Heisenberg To Have Reveal His Plans To Ethan.

Come on, Heisenberg! You know not to reveal your hand to Ethan like that, do you? For a guy whom had engineering prowess, this really cost him. Rather than have mentioned to Ethan his plan to weaponize Rose, Heisenberg should have offered his help with no strings attached. Yet, being self centered, Heisenberg had to blurt out his intentions before making a deal. Something that cost Heisenberg dearly. Speaking of...

3. Imagine If Ethan Winters Did Take Up Heisenberg's Offer.

As I said before, I wish Heisenberg had not revealed his plans to Ethan. That way, he would have been in a better position to negotiate an alliance with Ethan. Yet, for the sake of argument, let us assume that Heisenberg did not reveal his plan to weaponize Rose. Ethan would have gained an ally in his ordeal against Mother Miranda. Considering that Heisenberg had his own vendetta against Mother Miranda, it would have been fitting to have seen Ethan and Heisenberg join forces. Which goes on to my next point.

4. Heisenberg Should Have Been Allowed The Opportunity To Have Fought Mother Miranda.

I was very upset to learn Heisenberg was unable to carry out his revenge. Believe me, it would have been a phenomenal moment in Resident Evil Village had he been able to do that. Think for a moment that in the fight against Mother Miranda, Ethan had obtained help from Heisenberg. Just the idea of Heisenberg's mutant form squaring off against Mother Miranda could have made for video game history. How so? Doing such would have enabled Heisenberg a good death scene. Yet, as luck would have it, Capcom missed this opportunity.

5. I Believe Heisenberg Should Have Been A Playable Character.

Now imagine that for a second! It would have been awesome had players been given the chance to place as Karl Heisenberg. The very concept of him receiving his own side story would have added deeply to Heisenberg's character arc. Just think about what could have transpired had players been allowed this opportunity. Now that would be a first in a Resident Evil game!

6. It Would Have Been Awesome To Have Seen Karl Heisenberg and Chris Redfield Fought It Out.

Personally, I would wanted to have seen Heisenberg's Soldats in a huge battle scene. Heisenberg's Soldats and Lycans on one side with Chris Redfield's Hound Wolf Squad on the other warring it out. Then before things became too bleak for Chris Redfield, the Romanian Military could have rolled in and aided the heroes. Yet, Heisenberg could have mopped the floor with everyone proving how dangerous he was as a villain.

7. Karl Heisenberg Should Have, At Least, Survived.

Although he was only introduced in Resident Evil: Village, Karl Heisenberg had great potential. His popularity alone should have enabled Heisenberg to be a reoccurring character. The idea of Heisenberg returning in future installments would have expanded his character. Imagine had he survived the events of Resident Evil: Village. Heisenberg would be motivated for revenge against the destruction of his factory. Perhaps Heisenberg could be in the search for more power? Either way, he would have made a great villain since Albert Wesker.

In conclusion Karl Heisenberg's status as a villain in the Resident Evil series cannot be disputed. Yet, the opportunities Capcom had with him were largely swept under. Although Heisenberg is a memorable video game villain, its my opinion so much more could have been done with him. Alas, it never came to pass.
