Cyberpunk 2077 is one of those games that has defined modern gaming - its immersive environments, realistic and lovable cast, and intense themes of death, personhood, and legacy firmly place it in the category of modern masterpiece. Despite its rocky start upon initial release, the game has a wealth of interesting mechanics, immersive story missions, and hidden secrets for players to explore and enjoy, making Night City feel like more than a simple background for a video game.

The game has achievements and secrets that make gamers of all types feel satisfied with it, including collection junkies like myself. There are dozens of iconic weapons to find in Night City, whether you get them as a gift from an important NPC or simply find them lying around as you explore. If you stash these weapons, you can see them displayed in a glorious collection on the walls of your stash room in V's apartment.

There are a ton of iconic weapons in the game, so I've divided them up by type into separate articles (check out my profile for the rest!) For today, here are all of the iconic blades in Cyberpunk 2077.

Byakko

Type: Katana

Mission: Professional Widow

Location: V's Stash

Byakko is an Iconic katana that was added in Patch 1.5 as a final quest reward. You get it from Wakako Okada after completing all 8 of her gigs, finding it in your stash after completing the final mission. According to Wakako, it was previously hers - which means that Byakko, much like its mistress, is no joke.

Byakko has a few unique features that make it a favorite of those who are going the with the Samurai Netrunner build. It has an increased range over other katanas and increases the chance that your blows will inflict Bleeding.

Cocktail Stick

Type: Katana

Mission: Automatic Love

Location: Evelyn's dressing room in Clouds

This hot pink beauty is Evelyn's personal katana, and it becomes available to you during the Automatic Love mission. Simply go to the green room inside Clouds during the mission and grab it off the desk. And don't sweat it if you forgot - that room remains open after the mission and you can simply go up to Clouds and grab it whenever you have time.

Cocktail Stick has a high DPS rating that makes it a cool weapon for lower-level characters, but it doesn't stack up to katanas that you get later on in the game. Overall, it's more of an aesthetic piece than anything that will change the tide of battle.

Jinchu-Maru

Type: Katana

Mission: Play It Safe

Location: Oda's body after defeating him

Jinchu-Maru is a gorgeous katana that you loot from Oda after defeating him during your battle in the Play It Safe mission. Much like Byakko, it's a powerful blade that is especially favorable to those who are using the Samurai Netrunner build. Make sure that you pick it up right after defeating Oda - you will not be able to get it later in the game.

In terms of features, Jinchu-Maru is similar to Oda himself - an honorable but brutal opponent. Your final hit in a combo does double damage, and if your health is lower than your opponent's, it does quadruple damage.

Satori

Type: Katana

Mission: The Heist

Location: Inside the chopper on the roof of Yorinobu Arasaka's penthouse

Getting this weapon can be a bit of a risky maneuver, but it's worth it for a complete collection. Satori is inside the helicopter that's on the helipad on the roof of the penthouse - after the building has been alerted to your presence and you're making your escape, run up there and take care of the two henchmen that are guarding the helicopter before grabbing your prize.

Satori is a unique weapon amongst the game's other Iconic katanas - it has a lower base DPS than other weapons, but it has a higher crit damage multiplier, making it a pretty heavy hitter under the right circumstances.

Scalpel

Type: Katana

Mission: Big In Japan

Location: Reward from Dennis after completing the mission

Get ready to work for this one - your quest for Scalpel will begin when you speak to an NPC named Dennis who hangs out directly across from Rogue's booth in The Afterlife. Dennis is a little shady, but he tells you he has a job for you. All he needs you to do is find a package hidden in an abandoned fridge in Kabuki and drive it to a set location. Easy money, right?

After you complete this mission, Dennis will present you with Scalpel, a katana with a pretty bright blue handle that does increased electrical damage to your foes. As an added bonus, it increases your crit chance by 50% and applies Bleeding when you use it while the Sandevistan Cyberware implant is active.

Stinger

Type: Knife

Mission: I'll Fly Away

Location: Received from Mitch after completing the mission

This Iconic weapon is a bit harder to get, simply because the side quest that it's attached to hangs in precarious balance between two story missions with Panam. You get this mission from Mitch after completing Panam's "Riders on the Storm" mission, but you can only do it before you do "Queen of the Highway". If you rush to Panam's next mission, then you cannot complete I'll Fly Away and you'll never get your hands on Stinger.

Easter egg hunters will love this mission too - alongside Stinger, Mitch gives you an action figure of a Mortal Kombat character named Scorpion, supposedly as a tribute to his fallen friend.

Tsumetogi

Type: Katana

Mission: Pisces

Location: On the table in the conference room where you confront the Tyger Claw bosses

Tsumetogi is another "blink and you'll miss it" iconic weapon - it's on display on the table in the conference room during the Pisces mission. You can grab it at any time, either before or after you complete the mission. Make sure you grab it while you're there, though - you will not be able to return to this location to grab it later.

Similar to Scalpel, Tsumetogi deals increased electrical damage and has a chance to apply Shock to your enemies. It's a really decent piece for low to mid-level characters, but we recommend switching to something like Jinchu-Maru when you reach higher levels.

And that's it for the iconic blades in Cyberpunk 2077! Stay tuned for guides on pistols, revolvers, rifles, and more!
