Stardew Valley - the game where backbreaking work on your grandpa's old farm is relaxing and you can gift people raw fish (this is not typically recommended). Stardey Valley is a game where you can take the reins and go down different paths; romance, rekindling your love of corporate life, or bringing Pelican Town to its true potential in the valley. However, the community center helps to keep farmers engaged in all the different options the game offers.

Starting the 5th of Spring, make your way past the bus stop (between the hours of 8am and 1pm, when it isn't raining) and Mayor Lewis brings you to and unlocks the Community Center for us. Thanks!

From here, we have to...

  1. Read the Golden Scroll in the lower left room, then procede with your farm as usual
  2. The next day, you'll receive a letter in the mail from the Wizard, instructing you to visit him (you can find the wizard's tower to the left of the forest)
  3. Visit the Wizard during normal business hours and he'll grant you the knowledge to read the Scroll formally indecipherable

Woo-hoo! Your Community Center journey can now begin. Odds are it's Spring while you're reading this, so you should be good to jump into things!

Foraging

The Community Center starts off with the Spring Foraging Bundle - the name is a bit self explanatory. You're going to want to find four things off the ground - foragables - and keep 'em with you to donate to the first Bundle. These can be picked up nearly anywhere off the ground as long as you're outside!

  • Wild Horseradish
  • Daffodil
  • Leek
  • Dandelion

Farming

Completing the Spring Foraging Bundle unlocks the Pantry. Make your way to Pierre's and buy yourself some seeds and (if you don't have the recipe) some quality fertilizer! The Spring Crops Bundle requires one each of four different crops:

  • Parsnip
  • Green Bean
  • Cauliflower
  • Potato

Farming doesn't stop here, however. The Quality Crops bundle, also in the Pantry, requires five gold parsnips. I suggest buying as many parnips as your farmer hands can hold and using enough fertilizer to make you regret having a nose.

Fruit

Here's where things get a bit tricky - the Artisan Bundle asks for cherries and apricots, but planting the trees, waiting for the trees to grow (which takes a whole season), and then harvesting the trees unfortunately isn't possible for your first year - you'll have better odds finding those two fruits at the Traveling Cart in the forest.

However, you can prepare for Summer by planting orange and peach trees, and harvesting them when the tree produces. While you're at it, prepare for Fall too! I've heard apples and pomegranates are mightly popular with the Junimos.

Fishing

Also unlocked after completing Pantry, the Fish Tank invites the farmer to spend a relaxing day by the beach soaking up those rays. Stings rays, that is! Well, ignore that last part.

The Fish Tank bundles are mostly organized by where the fish are found or if they're special in some way (River, Lake, Ocean, Nighttime, Crab Pots, and Speciality). We'll just focus on Springtime fish, however.

Rivers

  • Sunfish - 6am-7pm, specifically sunny weather
  • Catfish - 6am-midnight, only when raining
  • Shad - 9am-2am, only when raining

Lake

  • Carp - anytime, any weather
  • Ocean

    • Sardine - 6am-7pm

    Night Fishing

    • Eel - 4pm-2am, only when raining, in the ocean

    Is that it?

Well, not quite. There are many required options for the Bundles, and this only scratches the surface. You'll want to start prepping for a coop and a barn if you haven't already, have an area set aside for a beehive and some flowers, work your way through the Mines, well. The list goes on.

Start chopping those trees, give all your hard-earned gold to Pierre for just one more parsnip seed, and hey -

Pet your chosen furry companion every day.
