The Electronic Entertainment Expo, otherwise known as E3, is always an exciting time of year. As we begin to count down to the event's June kickoff, many gamers will huddle around their phones, their tablets, their computers, their TVs, and even the local game store in order to get their hands on the pre-orders that become available as they're announced.

With #E3 running from June 13–15, we can expect Sony to provide us with some breathtaking news regarding its firmware, upcoming games and fresh partnerships. We can also expect for the gaming giant to bring the boxing gloves to once again trade blows with Microsoft.

With many of #Sony's first-party exclusives currently in development, we're champing at the bit to see several of them in a near-finished state. Here's a list of games we should be seeing this year at E3.

The Last Of Us Part II

Naughty Dog's upcoming title The Last of Us Part II has been highly anticipated by fans since its big reveal last year. In our desperate want for the survival horror, many gamers have been tearing the trailer apart, looking for hints as to what has happened to Joel and Ellie since the first game's 2013 release. This four-year lag has allowed time for the developers to polish the sequel ahead of its as-yet-undisclosed release date.

We hope to see Sony and #NaughtyDog give us a meatier glimpse at the post-apocalyptic world of #TheLastofUs2 in which humans aren't nearly as haunting as the infected. While the Bloaters were formidable, there has to be something bigger than these fungus frighteners.

Starting out as one of the most intriguing tech demos of all time for the PlayStation 3, Kara, as it was then known, pulled at the heartstrings of fans around the world when first we glimpsed it in 2012. With smash hits such as Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain, developer Quantic Dream has for the past five years been striving to bring Kara to life in game.

At E3 2016 the developer announce that Kara would become a character in the upcoming action-adventure neo-noir thriller Detroit: Become Human. There's no doubt that #Sony and Quantic Dream will show off their upcoming game's progress as one of the PlayStation 4's most narrative-driven games in recent years.

God Of War

Twelve years ago, Sony's Santa Monica Studio gifted us with one of the most violent, goriest, imaginative games that mixed all the action with Norse mythology. The game introduced us to Kratos, a protagonist who would go on to become one of the faces of the #PlayStation brand. Since the launch of the PlayStation 4, there's been little mention of Kratos and his adventures.

For those of us who have played through the God of War series and want to see more of Kratos, it's high time we got an update on what Sony has in store for the eighth game, which will hopefully be released by the end of 2018.

Death Stranding

One of our favored directors, Hideo Kojima's upcoming title Death Stranding seems set to be as mysterious, weird and charming as the mind behind it. His latest title is one that has brought together an amazing cast that includes Mads Mikkelsen, Norman Reedus and a likeness of Guillermo del Toro.

With little information currently available about Death Stranding, we can only tear the trailer down and hope that something new is revealed during E3 2017.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

When the trailer for Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice was first released in 2014, it garnered quite the fan reaction. And with more information dripping through the cracks since then, we know the indie action game will be in the spirit of Norse mythology and involve a journey through a hellish world made up of Senua's own psychotic manifestations. With E3 2017 fast approaching, we now need that release date.

There's one Sony series that rivals Microsoft's Forza Motorsport. #GranTurismo is set to keep us busy for years to come, with Gran Turismo Sport being the upcoming title in the popular racing franchise. With little known about the game's release date, customizations and gameplay, expect an appearance at E3.
