6 Teams to Manage in 'Football Manger 2018'

Football Manager 2018 has been out for nearly a month now and I figured it was about time to give you all some teams to guide to a trophy or two (or even three)

1) Liverpool

The first team on the list is Liverpool Football Club. Now, if you've been keeping up with the premier league, it's easy to spot why this is an interesting club.

Not only do they have a great attacking force (Salah, Firmino, Coutinho) but they also have some very exciting youth prospects (Woodburn, Alexander-Arnold). However, it's well publicised how leaky Liverpool's defence is, and that is an area you will have to look to strengthen....or will you just bolster your attack?

Luckily you're not expected to win the league in your first season, but start well and steady that defence and you might be in with a shout.

2) Swindon Town

Now this is a personal one for me, but something I still think would appeal to other players.

Swindon Town Football Club are a team that have spent a lot of time in the lower leagues of English football (League One and Two), but that doesn't mean they don't have some history...they were once in the Premier League, but only for a single season where they still hold the record for most goals conceded in a season (it was 100 by the way).

Last year they were relegated back to League Two, so there is some rebuilding to be done, inviting a challenge. And the board will accept nothing but promotion. Have you got it in you to help this team? Give it a go...

3) Manchester United

Now, if maybe you've not played much Football Manager, you might be looking for an easier ride...if that's the case, Manchester United is for you.

Not only do they have a great attacking force in Lukaku, Martial and Rashford, but they also have some solid defenders in Lindelof, Shaw and Valencia, as well as one of the best goalkeepers currently in the world,

An easy ride sure, but get the tactics wrong or annoy the wrong people and the team might not gel well and you may find yourself struggling.

4) England

Don't enjoy managing clubs? Want to take a go at the international stage, but still have a bit of a challenge? Well, what team is more difficult than England?

The country expects you have exciting talent (Kane, Alli, Rashford), but can you make them play together? Will Liverpool players work with Manchester United players? Tottenham with Arsenal? Can you finally bring the World Cup back to the home of football?

5) U.S.A

Sticking with international management, how about taking on the United States football team?

Despite being one of the biggest and most populated nations in the world, it's not faired too well on the football international stage. Failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup means you'll miss out on the next big cup competition, but that doesn't mean you'll have it easy.

Needing to find youth prospects, as well as some experienced players, will be difficult, but America has a wealth of players to choose from.

Can you finally bring them forwards to be a football super power?

6) Or how about starting unemployed?

And finally, and kind of cheating, why not start unemployed?

This is the toughest challenge you can ever do on Football Manager. Before you start your game, set all your qualifications to the lowest and your 'previous playing experience' to Sunday League Football, then just jump in without a job.

Work your way up the clubs either by club hoping or taking one team up the leagues. The ultimate goal? The Champions League...

Think you can handle it? Good luck.

And that's my list, any teams you think I should try? Or do you even fancy a game of Football Manger with me? Let me know on Twitter at @FilmAndTVNerd, thanks for reading.
